I started with the Gigboard and realized that I actually DID want the extra features that the pedalboard offered, so I upgraded. This has seen me through every successful show in the past few years from Hamilton and Toronto to Montreal and New Jersey. Yes, it is roadworthy. Take your time and dial in the sounds. That's pretty well all there is to it. Another well-known Canadian touring guitarist also uses one and it was based on his recommendation that I purchased it. I also own the MX5, which sounds identical, but in a smaller form factor and with fewer connectivity options. But it is perfect as a backup (because *every* computer fails eventually) or as a fly rig to the full pedalboard. Many people comment on my sound to the effect of, "I can't believe that's not actually a Marshall."

This thing rocks right out the box..... 🤘🤘🤘 easy to use, great sounding, feels well build, the touch screen on this is amazing, after adding the IR's I have purchased OMG this thing come alive!!!!!🤙🤘 what a difference, I am totally blown away with the sound and how realistic it sounds.
I would recommend the back pack, it makes this so easy to pack up and keep organized.

From the build quality, to the weight, to the clear and colourful display, to the feel of the controls, and to the amazing sound, this pedalboard exceeded my expectations. Being able to control almost all the parameters from the 12 foot switches is great too. Well done Headrush.

Firmware updates really bring this piece of kit to a whole new level. The sounds I'm able to quickly make with this are stellar, and the stereo effects are pretty good for being part of this all-in-one. The built-in cab emulations allow for speaker/mic blending sounds by having stereo cab setups each with their own mic/break up. In the linear signal chain config. cannot blend IR's together easily but a good IR prevents the need for blending them. Makes for a really easy scoot on and off stage. Packing up is a breeze.

One of the best investments I've made to date. Replaced my big, bulky Pedaltrain pedalboard and absolutely love this unit! My only gripe would be is, Long & McQuade kind of ignore this unit and don't give it fair representation in their stores since they distribute the Helix (Line 6) brand... it's too bad, this thing would sell so much more if it was fairly promoted and represented... I was going to go with the Helix until I saw this Headrush elsewhere and was absolutely sold on it! Long & McQuade didn't even have one on the sales floor!! They did have a new one in the box in the back though which I bought... give this thing some love L&M!!

Chose HR Pedalboard over Helix LT 7 of 7 customers found this review helpful

I spent quite a bit of time deciding between the Helix line and the HR Pedalboard reading reviews and listening to demos. I even looked at Fractal Audio, Boss and Kemper. Originally, I was saving up to buy the Helix Rack with the Helix Controller and then looking at the Helix LT instead as I know I'm not a great guitar player and thinking that the Helix would be overkill for me especially with the type of gigs I play. I had a Marshall JMP-1 with a TC Electronic G-major for the longest time and wanted to upgrade to something more current. I made the decision to buy the HR Pedalboard mainly because of the ease of use. I never really spent time tweaking with the settings on my JMP-1 and G-major because it meant spending a lot of time learning how to adjust them. The HR Pedalboard reviews really showed how easy it is to adjust settings with its touchscreen capabilities. The sound is subjective between all manufacturers and I found that a lot of the review blogs for Helix were like a lot of iPhone reviews where they think Helix can do no wrong and people would put other products down without any real substance (actually using other products) or an open mind to a fair and unbiased review (btw - I own an iPhone 6S, BlackBerry KeyOne, and Galaxy S4). The sound of the HR Pedalboard to me sounds great. I'm sure the Helix and other pedalboards sound great too but I chose HR mainly for the ease of use. I didn't want to chose something just because it's the most popular. I risked buying the HR for lack of continued support if it doesn't sell enough for the manufacturer to keep supporting it. But now that Firmware update 2.0.0 has been released with some major add-ons and some good improvements, I am much happier with my decision back in June 2018.

This pedalboard is very easy to use and it sounds fantastic. While it might have fewer amp models than other brands, there are quality amps in all genres from clean to face-melt. I would like to see them do some Supro sims, though, perhaps that might come with future updates? Some of my favourite amp models are: the Matchless MS-30, Marshall JCM 800, Marshall 100 Watt Plexi, Fender Bassman and Soldano Crunch. You can take one of the 270 factory presets and make it the foundation for a personal preset or start from scratch. Starting from scratch is the way to go to tailor your sound to your personal needs. The main selling point, to me however, is the large oled touch screen which makes setting up rigs so easy and uncomplicated that I can spend hours playing around with rigs without menu frustration. Two caveats: if you are going through a normal guitar amp make sure your cab sim is turned off (duh), although you can still use any IR. Spent hours when I first bought it, trying to figure why the sound was weird. You need to add the cabs back in if going through FRFR speakers. Also, keep your rig output between 66 to 75% for the best digital sound.

This is great value for money, very nice sturdy build firmware update was easy. Sound quality is top drawer. The Eleven rack patches have been given an update with the HD IR's you can tell the difference. The 4 DSP's mean when you switch from one rig to another you get the tail of the previous effect so there's no jarring cut out in between changing. The UI is fantastic, it's way ahead of the Helix UI. Its fluid and fast, you can color code everything. Expression pedal works well and has a good range of motion feels natural. I love the amp and cab emulations the ambient sounds and hums sound very realistic natural responsiveness. Its really fast to build a rig takes seconds The effects run the whole gamut, easy to try configurations by quickly altering their place in the signal path with a simple drag and drop Comes with Celestion IR's as a free download

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
