caitlin toom (Voice, Piano)

Online Lessons:

Caitlin is an experienced vocalist, accompanist, composer, and graduate of Vancouver Community College's jazz voice program with a minor in Classical Voice. She has been performing and teaching in Vancouver for over seven years. As a performer, Caitlin has fronted a 13-piece funk band, various jazz combos, as well as solo work. As an instructor, she has taught voice and piano as well as musical theatre performances. Caitlin is adaptable and passionate, specializing in jazz, pop and rock. She welcomes students of all levels, styles and abilities. Her rate is $30/half hour.

eduard riumin (Drums, Piano)

Online Lessons:

Eddie’s musical experience started with the piano at age 14. He excelled at RCM piano exams in a short span of time, reaching up to RCM grade 9 on piano. Soon after, he pursued and obtained a Jazz Studies Diploma from Capilano University majoring on drums. Eddie is often performing on drums in all different genres and styles of music. His rate is $29/half hour.

eimear maccarrick (Piano)

Online Lessons:

Eimear MacCarrick is a composer and music teacher from Ireland, currently based in BC. She began playing the piano at the age of 8 and grew up with a passion for music. In 2014, Eimear completed a diploma in piano with the Victorian College of Music and Drama London and began teaching in Ireland shortly after. In 2018, Eimear relocated to Vancouver. Since then, Eimear has composed music for a number of projects, including the short film "I AM AN ISLAND", for which she won Best Score at the Underground Cinema Awards in Dublin 2021. Her rate is $29/half hour.

emily naccarato (Piano, Theory, Special Needs Music)

After several years of teaching piano, Emily (MTA, MT-BC) completed a Bachelors degree in Music Therapy at the University of Windsor, while studying piano performance under Dr. Gregory E Butler. For the past five years, Emily has been working as a music therapist as well as providing typical and adaptive piano lessons at Long and McQuade. Her music therapy training helps her accommodate different learning styles and abilities in the lesson room. Her philosophy of teaching is to lead individuals to achieve their full potential, through music. Her rate is $30/half hour.

jeffrey black (Piano, Guitar)

Online Lessons:

Recently transplanted from Alberta, Jeff Black brings over 15 years of performance experience, and 5+ years of teaching experience in both piano and guitar. With a background in RCM piano and a diploma in Jazz from Edmonton's Grant MacEwan University, Jeff is ready and willing to take students of all ages or experience levels and help them pursue their musical goals. His rate is $30/half hour.

katherine bonness (Violin, Viola, Piano)

Katherine Bonness received her Bachelor of Music in viola performance from the University of Manitoba and has studied violin, piano, theory, and composition privately. Katherine has performed in a wide variety of ensembles across Canada as a violinist and violist, from string quartets to orchestras. With over a decade of teaching experience, Katherine customizes her approach to each student, using various method books and supplementary material, while emphasizing solid foundational techniques and catering to the individual's musical interests to keep things fun! She can help students of all ages and levels prepare for anything from just learning for enjoyment, to mastering a specific piece, performing in recitals, auditions, preparing for RCM exams, and beyond to any other musical goals the student might have. Her rate is $29/half hour.

kevin madi (Piano, Clarinet, Saxophone)

Online Lessons:

Kevin is currently in his 5th year of Music Education at UBC. He is an experienced teacher who has studied under both Francois Houle and Jose Franch-Ballester. Kevin has been playing piano since the age of 5 and clarinet since the age of 11. As a teacher, Kevin's goals are to have fun and guide his students towards success. His rate is $29/half hour.

niho takase (Piano)

Online Lessons:

Juno nominated pianist Niho Takase has over a decade of professional experience as a performer and teacher. She has a Bachelors of Applied Music from VCC, and teaches Classical, Jazz, Bossa Nova, Salsa and more. She has studied Latin music under the Tito Puente Orchestra's former pianist Sonny Bravo in New York, and Afro Cuban music with Grammy Award winner Chucho Valdes in Havana Cuba. Her rate is $30/half hour.

roshanak farzadkish (Piano, MYC)

Online Lessons:

Roshanak started playing piano at age 8. At age 16 she turned her focus from Iranian music to Western classical music and obtained her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in piano performance. She also has a conducting certificate from Capilano University. Her desire is to help students become more intelligent, diligent, conscious, and to help them to experience the joy of playing piano. Roshi is a RCM certified teacher, and a specialist in both elementary and intermediate music education. Her rate is $35/half hour.

samantha watson (Piano, Voice, Theory)

Samantha (she/her) recently graduated ‘with distinction’ from the University of British Columbia with a BA Major in Music. Beforehand, she received a diploma from Capilano University with a focus on classical voice and piano performance. Having been fortunate to experience a multitude of positions in music, from performer to conductor and director, she is enthusiastic to formally begin her path towards music education. She confidently believes in the concept of comprehensive musicianship and regularly applies this in her teaching philosophy. Believing that every challenge is a lesson, and that a lesson can be composed from every genre/example of music. She is interested to work with students of all ages and varying levels of experience who are fascinated by a wide range of musical styles. Her rate is $29/half hour.

winnie liao (Violin, Piano)

Winnie is a violinist and pianist who has performed as a solo, chamber, and orchestral musician in concert halls across Canada and the US. She is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music where she completed her Masters and Bachelors in Music degrees. She teaches students of all levels with expertise in the Royal Conservatory of Music program where she holds dual violin and piano ARCT diplomas. Her rate is $30/half hour.
