After several years of teaching piano, Emily (MTA, MT-BC) completed a Bachelors degree in Music Therapy at the University of Windsor, while studying piano performance under Dr. Gregory E Butler. For the past five years, Emily has been working as a music therapist as well as providing typical and adaptive piano lessons at Long and McQuade. Her music therapy training helps her accommodate different learning styles and abilities in the lesson room. Her philosophy of teaching is to lead individuals to achieve their full potential, through music. Her rate is $30/half hour.
paul cheng (Cello, Violin, Viola, Theory)

Paul started playing the violin at age 6. He studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music in London for a number of years, came to Canada in 1987, and continued his music education at the University of British Columbia and Manhattan School of Music in New York. Since then, Paul has been playing and teaching in North America for the last 20 years. Paul is actively performing all year round with local symphony orchestras and small ensembles... from Classical to Jazz and constantly recording with many local composers/artists. His rate is $30/half hour.
samantha watson (Piano, Voice, Theory)

Samantha (she/her) recently graduated ‘with distinction’ from the University of British Columbia with a BA Major in Music. Beforehand, she received a diploma from Capilano University with a focus on classical voice and piano performance. Having been fortunate to experience a multitude of positions in music, from performer to conductor and director, she is enthusiastic to formally begin her path towards music education. She confidently believes in the concept of comprehensive musicianship and regularly applies this in her teaching philosophy. Believing that every challenge is a lesson, and that a lesson can be composed from every genre/example of music. She is interested to work with students of all ages and varying levels of experience who are fascinated by a wide range of musical styles. Her rate is $29/half hour.
