Dylan Dumitru - coordinator of the music lessons in Ottawa

Dylan Dumitru

Born and raised in the United States, Dylan began playing clarinet in 2003. Throughout high school, she performed in the community youth orchestra and All-District band.
In 2012, she left the States to pursue an undergraduate Music Degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, studying under Dr. Paul Bendzsa and Dr. Christine Carter.
While in school, she performed in the MUN Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Jason Caslor, and the MUN Chamber Orchestra under Dr. Vernon Regher. She also performed with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra on the bass clarinet during their performance of Aaron Copland’s Rodeo.

Dylan hopes to bring an exciting and encouraging energy to the lesson centre!

Cliff Chamberlain is a well-rounded musician with vast musical knowledge and experience. He has been teaching and performing music for over 25 years in the Ottawa area.
He is well-versed in rock, metal, blues, country, classical, funk and jazz. Cliff's teaching method caters to the individual, teaching them their favourite songs and styles while all along giving them the theoretical foundation needed to progress continuously in their studies.
Cliff can be seen performing in his award-winning band Evil Creek at local clubs and festivals.

David Pile - Guitar music lessons in Ottawa

David is a guitarist with a passion for acoustic music. Graduating with a Bachelor of Music from Wilfrid Laurier University, he studied classical guitar under the mentoring of Terry Mckenna. While classical guitar has been his most recent and primary musical adventure, David also has a passion for Celtic fingerstyle guitar where alternate guitar tunings can be explored and enjoyed. With multiple years now of teaching experience, David has enjoyed teaching people of all ages. As a teacher, he understands the importance of strong classical technique but also sees the value of free musical expression that he wishes to instill in all of his students.

David's rate per half hour private lesson at Long & McQuade Ottawa is $25.

Harrison Singer - Guitar, Theory music lessons in Ottawa

Harrison is a bassist, guitarist and composer with a Bachelor of Music from Carleton University. He is a part of many musical projects across Ottawa in a wide variety of genres such as Jazz, Reggae, Samba, Funk, Rock, Blues. Harrison has been teaching for many years, taking the complicated aspects of music and making them easy to understand and accessible to all ages. He values creativity and encourages the student to find their own unique voice on their instrument. Harrison's personal career has taken him all over Canada including Ottawa festivals such as: Blues Fest, Jazz Fest and the Festival Franco Ontarien.

His rate per half hour private lesson is $26.

Manny Makris - Guitar, Ukulele music lessons in Ottawa

Manny has been playing live since 1991 and teaching since 1995. He was the winner of the 1997 Blues Guitar Riff-Off at age 19 and was nominated Best Blues Band at the Doheny Blues Society in California in 1999 and the Maple Blues Awards in 2000. He has played many major blues festivals in Ottawa and New York and has shared the stage with blues legends Otis Rush, Kid Ramos (The Fabulous Thunderbirds) and Dan Aykroyd. Manny has played in several different blues and rockabilly bands over the years. He is comfortable teaching students of all levels, especially those that are interested in lead and rhythm guitar. Specializing in Blues, Country, Rockabilly, Rock and Roll and Surf.
