Sound for Houses of Worship

Join Steve Lilly and Sean Harris as they explore the challenges of mixing sound for houses of worship and delve into issues like proper use of wireless mics and stage monitors. Learn how to get the best mix from your analog or digital console and share the challenges you may have in your environment. Steve and Sean are audio recording specialists at L&M. Steven is also a freelance audio engineer with Mountain Fortress Audio and has worked with CBC, The Banff Centre, The Tanglewood Music Centre, and various symphony orchestras.

DJ 101 with Dylan Rose

Join Long & McQuade’s own Dylan Rose (DJ Rose) as he explores a range of essential tools; from the fundamentals of beat matching and mixing, to using effects and programming extended sets. All levels of talent are welcome!

Saturday, March 25 | 12 pm
Drum Circle with Tony Tucker

Step outside the box and join us in drum and song as Tony guides this fun and interactive drum circle. All are welcome and no experience is necessary. Tony’s passion is West African Music and has studied with many of the world’s best djembe masters. Some djembes will be supplied, however if you have one, please bring your own.

Drum Groove with Dan George

Come find your groove in a fun filled afternoon of drumming, music, and performance. Dan George and bassist Nick Meadus explore the rhythm section, provide tips and tricks for effective practice and help you find your groove. All are welcome and no experience is necessary. Dan performs with a number of bands around St. John’s and has studied with a number of international artists.
