Muhtadi Interntaional Drumming Festival is proud to present Beyond Sound Empijah, Joaquin Nunez Hidalgo featuring Dyalis Machado Migeles, Maracatu Mar Aberto, T.Dot Batu, Muhtadi & The World Drummers for the MIDF XV Benefit at Adelaide Hall April 25th.  The 19+ Benefit will be an eclectic and energetic night of dancing and World Beat to raise funds for the 15th Annual Muhtadi International Drumming Festival.

The April 25th Benefit at the Adelaide Hall  250 Adelaide Street promises to be a night to remember. The night will start out with FIVE distinct Drumming Groups taking you from Traditional West African to Afro’ Brazilian Samba Reggae Percussion.  Beyond Sound Empijah, Joaquin Nunez Hidalgo featuring Dyalis Machado Migeles, Maracatu Mar Aberto, T.Dot Batu, Muhtadi & The World Drummers will have the audience up off of their chairs and Groovin' to the beat. 

The performances will be followed by dancing showcasing sets featuring the distinct signature sounds of DJ MISS BOOM Canada's DJ Diva spinning afro beat, soca and chutney mixtures and Selectors Patrick Roots and DJ Chocolate. If there’s reggae music and Toronto people involved, chances are you’ll find DJ Chocolate and Patrick Roots involved in either a musical or promotional capacity.

Each year the Muhtadi International Drumming Festival, the largest percussion-based event of its kind in Canada, presents over 40 live performances, free of charge.  This year the festival, sponsored by Mapex Drums and Long & McQuade, will be held June 7th and 8th in Woobine Park.

The proceeds of the Adelaide Hall Benefit will go directly towards the costs of producing this year’s free festival so your attendance and support will be greatly appreciated.  Come early as CU (Casineros Unidos) Productions will be presenting a complimentary Salsa Lesson when the doors open at 6:30 p.m. Advance tickets are $25 plus S.C. and are available online at Northern Tickets.
