Join one of our pro-audio specialists as they lead us through the essentials of setting up a basic sound system! This clinic’s focus will be for small venues and will touch on the following subjects: passive system set up vs. powered system set up, basic mixer set up featuring the PGM8 and FX16ii, feedback control, setting your levels properly, and of course proper cable wrapping technique! This clinic is intended for beginners, but by the end of this clinic you’ll be ready to run sound for anything from a simple dance party to your rock band’s debut performance!

A Cappella Technique & Arranging for Pop Music with ETown Vocal Music Society
Join us for a very special workshop with guest clinicians from ETown: Edmonton’s all-ages a cappella music society! Vocal coaches Erin Craig, Jane Berry, Caleb Nelson, and David McCune will take us through the elements of arranging, preparing, and performing pop music for four or more unaccompanied voices. This clinic will be presented in two halves. In the first half, participants will be taught to sing an a cappella arrangement while learning about the tools and techniques used in its composition. After a 15 minute break, the second half will focus on microphone technique, beatboxing, and other aspects of small ensemble performance. Whether you are an educator, student, performer, or just a lover of vocal music, you will be sure to learn something new! Refreshments will be provided. Registration is open until March 10th to a maximum of 60 participants. Please be sure to include your voice type and/or level of experience in your registration email.

Recreational Hand Drumming Made Easy and Fun
Join us for an effective introduction to playing hand drums. Learn basic techniques for playing a single headed drum, like the West African djembe. To make learning easier, we will be using a “Say it and play it” approach, for verbalizing the sequence of hand strikes and rhythms, making everything much easier to learn and retain. Drums will be provided for those who don’t own one. We will also discuss what to look for when shopping for a drum. Be prepared to have fun in this interactive session!
