Renowned for his versatility, Francis Martel-Filteau is a singer, composer, songwriter, performer, multi-instrumentalist, and sound engineer.
Since age six, he has taken piano, singing, guitar, and drum lessons. His path led him to the Cégep de Drummondville, where he discovered the world of sound engineering and studio recording. After four years of study and two diplomas (an AEC in sound engineering and recording and a DEC in music interpretation), he headed to the University of Sherbrooke to perfect his musical skills with a bachelor's degree in music composition for film.
Along the way, Francis participated in several musical ensembles covering many styles, including a tribute to Harmonium, Rosema Tulip - an emerging music group, and numerous private event representations. He also performed with jazz big bands and choirs as a soloist. His extensive performance experience has taken him all over Quebec, and he has toured extensively, playing from Club Soda in Montreal to Percé in the Gaspé Peninsula.
Francis gives lessons and has been part of the teaching staff at Long & McQuade Sherbrooke since the opening of the lesson center.
