The Dolmetsch Nova range gives you a top quality matched range, from sopranino to direct blow bass, pitched at international standard A (440Hz). With matching profiles, curved windways (except for sopranino) and contrasting cream mounts, they look great too. Thanks to a specially chosen ABS construction, they are super-strong and very light.

If you're transitioning from an alto to tenor, this will take practice, because it needs a bigger volume of air moving through the tube. In return, you get a plummy, warm tone very close to the human voice. Mine came with a spare parts kit for the foot key(s) - which is why I rate the "Features" at a 10. Don't fall for the neck cord -- recorders need to be played nearly level, so their smaller voice can be heard. (Also easier on your supporting thumbs, and on your neck!) That said, I play a large amount of time outdoors, and this recorder can be worked up to a very powerful sound. When they selected a "real" recorder for the mold design, Dolmetsch chose well. The curved windway is a nice touch, and the double tenon joint (no corks, no air leakage) is only possible on a plastic recorder. First time I've encountered this feature.
