MG30CFX - 30 Watt Amp with Effects
This product is no longer available.
Marshall's MG30CFX combo amplifier packs more useful features than you'd usually expect from a 1 x 10" 30-watt combo. It starts with pure Marshall tone, tailored to your liking with the 3-band EQ. The MG30CFX sports four programmable channels - Clean, Crunch, Overdrive 1, and Overdrive 2. Dial in your tone, then save it for easy recall later. The tone is lively and in your face, as you'd expect from a Marshall, and you can add even more pizazz with the built-in effects. You get chorus, flange, phaser, delay, plus a separate reverb that can be combined with any other effect. And you can take complete control of the MG30CFX with the optional MG Footcontroller (sold separately). If you need an equally capable amp for practice and recording, you'll love the Marshall MG30CFX.

I'm using this amp for like 2 years now. The clean sound of this amp is really nice. I play every type of music but I mostly play Jazz, and it has a really nice warm tone to it. I was going to buy a Fender amp for my Jazz playing but I'm sticking with this one :)

Buy the Boss Metal Zone MT-2 and Distortion DS-1 pedals when you buy this amp. You will have a great sounding system for not much money. This amp really comes alive with these combo`s. Trust me folks you won`t need anything else.

I've owned this amp for three months now, and I haven't yet had a problem. Its clean is just that, clean and defined. It's ODs are seamless in the flowing from one to the other (that is to say, you get the tail end of the gain on the last channel on the channel being used. I've used a fender mustang, and line 6 and neither of them are as good as this amp. It also stacks up pretty well against the SL5 combo.

This is probably one of the better sounding amps I've owned, especially in clean. This one in particular seems to be a lemon though. Originally I could play fine, but after 5 to 10 minutes of play, I would loose all sound and lights. It was still getting power, but no signs of life. Brought it in, and it had to be sent away. 2 weeks later, I got it back, and I just plugged it back in. Now all the lights are stuck on amber and all I can get is quiet clean. None of the buttons function. Not sure why, but I'm a little disappointed with my first Marshall. Just want to note that this doesn't reflect on the fellas in the store. Customer service is top notch!

This is a fairly nice little amp for bedroom rockers, just don't expect to be able to jam with it.Here's why,it desperately needs a 12 inch Celestion as when turned up past 4 it looses almost all of it's bottom end and just sounds like the amps you get in beginner kits.3 of the 4 channels are good but the OD2 setting is far too noisy to be useful. The effects while a little gimmicky sound fine and adjust enough to suit most uses.Very nice reverb.Being priced so far above competitors offerings,it should include the stompware pedal with it.All in all like I said a decent bedroom amp.

i was surprised how well this amp did at our jazz--rock practice . With acoustic drums and bass guitar in the mix , this amp cut through and every note could be heard , and with a very nice tone. We all though it sounds great , better than the amps used before including tube amps . Who da thought it d be so nice for jazz . the footpedal with tuner is also most excellent .

Product Experience   I've tried it

I've recently tried this paticular amp out, and I own the previous model. I will first say that there is no such thing as "free" or "perfect", and that everything has flaws. But this is as close to perfection as possible. It has a tube-like sound, which is what practice amps are SUPPOSED to sound like. I recently bought a Roland Cube 40XL from Family Music (who don't have a return policy), and regret it. My friend bought a Line 6 Spider3, and he regrets it. This amp has everything you need. You don't need a dozen amp models or effects in an amp, the less stuff the better. It doesn't clip or sound digital like those amps do and it also handles pedals extremely well, and doesn't overload. Also, most people who bash the MG series own tube amps, which makes no sense. What do you expect? I reccomend it to beginners or people who live in small places who can't have tube amps.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
