I've been using the Zoom H4N for several years, now, and I can't imagine recording my videos without it. I bought it to record sound when I was using my DSLR camera. But the quality is so good that I still record sound on it when using other dedicated video cameras. Oh by the way, it is built solid. I've dropped it several times and it just keeps on ticking and ticking and ticking. I've never had a single problem with it over all these years. I even use another Zoom recorder (R8) for my voice over and it, too has awesome sound quality. I'm a Zoom fan.

The Zoom H4N has great recording capabilities. It is also great for recording with other microphones as well. I plug in my condenser mic to this to record with it. It is nice to be able to control the mic input gain on it as well, its nice for smaller rooms. I highly recommend this recorder for anyone who likes to record their own music or people who are doing video and need something with better sound recording capabilities for their videos. MUST BUY!!! Such a good price for the quality!

Wow really impressed with the recording capabilities. I added a memory card and power supply. Stuck the thing on a table in the middle of the jam space and set the input gain at about 30. Was very surprised at the stereo recording and great quality. No clipping at all. Going to try to send my bass signal and vocal signal to the inputs as well so I can mix them after. Glad I went with the higher end model. Thanks L&M St. John's. Very cool product.
