The Yamaha hardware is smartly made of high quality materials. This stand is perfect when you only need a short boom. Even if it's rated medium weight it can take a heavy cymbal and used live. No need for anything heavier.

Other than a bit of plating peeling off one snare stand, all my Yamaha stands, pedals, and accessories have blithely shrugged off about a decade of regular use, losing nothing of their original function and strength. Simple, well designed, made from quality materials, and Yamahas processes and QC are some of the most stringent in all of modern manufacturing! There's a REASON this stuff is nearly ALWAYS requested in backline contract riders!

Have toured with these stands for a number of years and have no complaints. Solid weight for a single braced stand so you don't have to add extra weight to your hardware case with expensive double braced stuff. Realized how cost friendly these things are when considering buying another brand. I would highly recommend.

I have a 12 and a 10 Yamaha birch hanging off one of these with a 10in splash. Very stable. Has never fallen over and I hardly ever have to readjust with all that wieght. I'm happy with the way it works. Have 2. I will be buying 2 more.
