Long story short - it's sexy, it sounds amazing, the build quality is fantastic, and the price for the amount of guitar you get, is fantastic. The one I got was flawless in fit and finish - not a blemish on it. I know that a lot of snobs pooh-pooh Korean or other offshore models, but this is truly an incredible guitar, worthy of the Gretsch name and lineage. My only possible criticism is also, ironically, one of the things I love about this guitar - with the separate volume controls for each pickup, PLUS the tone knob PLUS the selection switch, the amount of tone control on this thing is almost infinite - which can also be a bit of a frustration to people who are never quite 'perfectly' happy with their tone and constantly feel the need to tweak it (me, for example). On the other hand, once you dial it in....sweet justice this thing sounds incredible! One of the features I didn't even know I needed until I owned this guitar was the treble-bleed circuit on the master volume. I've always been a Fender guy, but have lusted after a Gretsch since I was 13 - well, 34 years later, I finally pulled the trigger, and wish I'd bought one a LOT sooner! Get it. You'll love it. As far as staff go - I tried a couple models at the Cambridge store, and then ended up at the Guelph store because they had one of these in stock - tons of help from the staff at both stores.
