I am a professional drum instructor and drum circle facilitator. I bought one of these drums a couple of years back so that I could have the option of standing while I teach. It is just fantastic. The sound isn't exactly like a djembe, as the skin is probably calf and is a little thicker, but the bass tone is clean, powerful, and centred and the high tones distinct enough to be heard over an entire ensemble. I had to sand down one of the feet a little so it didn't wobble as I played, but it was a minor tweak on a hand carved instrument. I absolutely love this drum, and everywhere I take it people are completely drawn to it.
