Stick-On Pickup Attaches To The Existing Bridge
You don't have to change the bridge on your instrument in order to get a good sounding pickup.
Simple - The new BM-1 Series of pickups was designed with a lengthened sensor element to enable it to work properly on the bridges of Bouzouki's, Mandola's, fixed, non-adjustable Mandolins and Citterns that traditionally have a wider string spacing format than a standard mandolin.
This series of pickups allows you to add a pickup system to your instrument without having to change the bridge or modify anything. Featuring our new MVC jack assemblies (which simply attach to the underside of the existing tailpiece), the BM-1's offer a real alternative to pickups that require bridge replacement.
Secure - The MVC jack assemblies give you a much more secure and reliable mounting for an output jack assembly than anything that clamps to the side of the instrument. The jack assembly, which nestles in right next to the tail piece, is only a half inch high and mounts to the tailpiece (not to the body).

I play banjo and had trouble with my active pickup, the plugin kept malfunctioning. It was shocking, you had a practice shot and everything worked, that night was show time and no pickup. So I purchased a Schatten passive pickup and added a preamp, ended the failures. If their is a sound man do not use a preamp. I now own 3 Schatten pickups on other instruments.

Purchased this to install on an old handmade Irish bouzouki. It’s simple and easy to install and the volume control and jack sit out of the way beside the tailpiece (allow space to slide off the cover!) Sounds amazing through my Traynor acoustic amp. Thanks, Dave, for the speedy delivery. I also have a Schatten banjo pickup and couldn’t be happier with it. Great Canadian products.

I have a LUNA Bouzouki which has very small openings into the Celtic Knot symbol. I needed a pickup that did not require being installed inside the instrument. This unit fit the bill and performs well. It has served me well and was very easy to install.
