It's ready to serve your musical vision, it's versatile enough to handle any style of music and it's the perfect platform for creating your own sound.
The power trio of Player Series single-coil pickups are crisp and articulate - it's authentic Fender tone with a modern edge. By adding a 22nd medium jumbo fret to the contemporary 9.5"-radius fingerboard we've made it easier to express yourself musically. The updated 2-point tremolo design has smoother travel for enhanced playing feel while simultaneously giving you rock-solid tuning stability since there's less friction against the posts.
Other features include master volume and tone controls, a 5-way pickup switch, 3-ply pickguard, synthetic bone nut, dual-wing string tree, sealed tuning machines and four-bolt "F"-stamped neck plate that marks this instrument as the real deal - as Fender as it gets. Found a good deal on a used Stratocaster from Long & McQuade Gear Hunter. Got a bonus of free shipping! Wasn't sure at first , pickups were a little weak in my opinion. String action high. Took it to the shop for a setup. The luthier adjusted the neck and pickup height. Guess I should have expected, that being a used guitar. Plays wonderful now and delivers the classic Strat tones. I've played other brands and styles of guitars over the years but Fender guitars have always been in the stable . They can do it all !
Prices for new is getting too high is my only fault with this instrument

II never played a USA Fender model, but I have played many expensive guitars in the past. I have been playing guitar for over 35 years. This has great build quality and the neck is great. Mine has super smooth fret edges. The pickups sounds great. Can't go wrong if you want a start type guitar.

I played a lot of Stratocaster guitars in working classic rock bands during the early 90s and decided it was time to get back into Strats again….this guitar does not disappoint. I am only a home player these days…,but this absolutely would have been my workhorse and go to guitar if I was still gigging. Not a single complaint…..this is gig ready and a great addition for any musician at any level.

Metal player since ever, i also like playing blues sometimes by the past, using my Ltd Ec-1000. Pretty good guitar but with this new Strat its and all new world to explore.
After couple hours playing, i quickly understand blues can now reach a all new level. I just can believe how easy and great it sound for the money, passing neck to bridge is just unbelievable.
I bring this strat to my lutheran day one, file the fret just a bit and got an absolute perfect guitar. True single coil (no push/pull like the Ltd) its an all new way to play guitar.
I never play a US Strat before, but i can't figure how US could sound and play better

I've watched a lot of documentaries on Jeff Beck over the years and I noticed that he is really good with just a standard strat. So when I saw this guitar hanging on the wall it drew me to it. Very nice fit and finish, plays awesome. I've had US strats in the past and this one tops it at this point in time. Love the Tidepool color. It's definitely a keeper.

This is a phenomenal guitar. Can't say enough good things about it, have had it for year now and have barely touch any of my other guitars.
Took a little bit to get used to coming from an Ibanez shredder, as with strats you have to fight it a little but it's completely worth it. First single coil guitar for me and I don't care for humbuckers at all anymore, the tone this thing puts out through my Marshall origin 20c is just epic. So fat and full, can't go wrong with these alnico pups.
I raised the action quite a bit, put two more springs in to lock the bridge down, and slapped on some slinky 10's. Haven't touched it since.
And all of this is coming from a guy that's never liked strats his whole life, until I bought one. Five stars

This guitar is extremely high quality. Looking it over very closely, it really is stunning. Fit and finish are top notch: frets, neck, fingerboard, body -- everything. I was expecting the set-up to be way off but the neck relief was perfect and the action was right at 4/64". I ordered it online and got an assist from John in the web store; great service and the delivery was lightning fast -- I was butchering SRV riffs the day after I put the order in for this guitar! Can't beat that. If you're hesitating because this is a made in Mexico guitar, rest assured these guitars look, feel, play and sound every bit like a USA model.

Wonderful guitar. Although made in Mexico, it loses nothing to an American Fender. Letterhead on an amp or played with a pedal set looks just like an American Fender. I recommend this guitar. Great price for what that guitar offers.

Had mine for a month now and my only problem is putting it down. Feels amazing to play and sounds great. It's very light and comfortable but feels super-solid construction-wise. The pickups sound great and having tone control for the bridge pickup is awesome. It's an amazing guitar especially at the price they are asking.

Bought this guitar today from the Calgary Location and I have to say I'm impressed!
This new player series replaces the old made in Mexico standard. The guitar is totally different sounding than the older version thanks to the Alnico 5 pickups that sound twangy like a Stratocaster should!
I read some reviews about people complaining about workmanship and sharp frets on these models but I couldn't find anything wrong with it. I'm very picky and I looked hard to find any imperfections or roughness on the fretboard and couldn't find any problems compared to the professional model.
Try it out for yourself. I saved $1000 because I planned on buying the professional series.

Great guitar and great value. Setup is nice. Fender spec is .010 inch neck relief and 4/64 action, and that's what it was straight out of the box. I put CS '69 pickups on my 2016 American Standard so I was looking for another strat that would have slightly hotter pickups than the vintage and have that typical strat sound and this is it. MIM neck feels just like the American Standard so now I have two guitars that feel similar to play and have the two tones I like. I picked the beautiful buttercream colour as it reminds me of those aged olympic white and blonde strats from the 70's. Long & McQuade staff knowledgeable and friendly as usual.

The revamped MIM standard line, now known as the Player series, is much better than the old line. Think MIA specs from a couple of years ago. This makes sense since Fender had to step up the line to make sure it was better than the CV Squiers. Why would anyone pay extra just for the logo?
The new series has a fuller feeling neck, and much nicer feeling than the old standard. The pickups are vintage voiced, and all of the hardware is high quality. I had to do a set-up on mine out of the box, but that's pretty standard with any guitar. Definitely will be keeping this one in the collection.

Great balance in my hands. I have it set up just above fret buzz affording very nice action. Tone from each of the 5 positions is more than I expected. Very, very comfortable guitar to play. Get over the stigma, this is a great guitar. Absolutely no need to spend more. I bought it at the Peterborough store.

I have owned several Strats over the years. But, this one is by far the best. It come perfectly setup, there was no need to set intonation or string height. The pickups sound more ?Straty? than the previous model and the tremolo is much better. There is no need to get a more expensive American model...The Player has it all..

I got this 3 weeks ago and has become my favorite in my collection. I also bought an American Professional around the same time and that has not seen the same amount of playing hours as this one. This is a MIM with MIA specs. I love the Alnico p/ups! Intonation and action was spot on out of the box. I since then replaced the tuners with locking tuners and the strings from .009 to .01 and that made this even better. Added one more spring to the tremolo block and that brought the action down a bit and made the guitar a dream to play!

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty
A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.
Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.
How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.
Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.
Purchasing additional years of coverage
Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.
If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:
NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
