The DT 880 PRO is a reference-class, semi-open studio headphone which combines all strengths of open, transparent headphones with those of more powerful, closed headphones. Specially designed housings and an improved system equalisation turn this remake of the studio classic DT 880 into an ideal studio monitoring headphone, with analytical qualities. Soft ear pads and adjustable, sliding, earpieces together with a single sided connecting cable ensure listening comfort during extended periods of use.

These are a reference headphone for mixing in a recording studio.

I love these cans. Light, super comfortable and affordable. But they are intended for studio mixing, not recording/tracking because they are an open back design which means that some sounds gets into the room and that is not what you want when recording vocals or instruments. But they slay for mixing and mastering. I have headphones costing more than double what these set you back which are not nearly as accurate or sensitive. But they are not for listening for enjoyment except possibly for the certain type of audiophile that wants anccuracy vs musicality. They are for listening to help you make frequency, phasing, imagingand balance decisions. Unparalleled for that purpose unless you spend >$1k. They really are that good for mixing/masrering.
