Each headjoint is handmade at their Maynard, Massachusetts workshop by professionally trained flutists. Every one is held to an exacting tolerance and high musical standard.
Philharmonic:
The Philharmonic has a relatively broad, flat lip plate which makes it the most resistant of the styles offered by Powell. Articulation is crisp and clean, and the style produces a deep, rich tone with a broad dynamic range. A player can create a rich tone with extraordinary carrying power and focus.
