The popular Grand Auditorium 314ce is an acoustic workhorse that performs equally well in the practice room, recording studio, and on stage. This latest edition features Taylor's acclaimed V-Class bracing, a revolutionary innovation in acoustic sound that responds with greater musicality and harmonic agreement. By introducing a more orderly vibration to the guitar's top, V-Class bolsters the sustain and volume to offer players a more dynamic voice to explore, while also resolving the minor intonation issues that players have long had to contend with.

Together with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid sapele back and sides, you can expect a balanced and articulate blend of top-end brightness, midrange fullness, and low-end warmth that accommodates an array of playing styles. Appointments include black binding, Gemstone fretboard/peghead inlays in Italian acrylic, and satin-finish back and sides with a gloss top. A Venetian cutaway invites your fretting hand up the neck, while our proprietary ES2 electronics serve up faithful plugged-in tone. The guitar ships in a deluxe hardshell case.

Features:
• Grand Auditorium body shape - The ultimate all-purpose acoustic.
• Sitka Spruce top - Broad dynamic range and accommodates a versatile range of playing styles.
• Sapele body - One of the best all-around tonewoods there is, sapele will deliver for any playing style.
• Expression System 2 electronics - Captures more of a guitar's dynamic properties using a breakthrough behind-the-saddle design.
• Venetian cutaway - Known for its soft, round lines.
• V-Class bracing - Balances the flexibility and stability of the top, and produces unmatched sustain, volume, and intonation.

I got my 314CE from the Brampton location after having to return a 214CE deluxe that I LOVED due to some setup issues with that guitar and I don't regret my decision for a second! A huge shoutout to Rick and Dan from the Brampton location for helping me out! My 314CE is the best acoustic I've ever owned. Build quality wise it's MILES ahead of my Gibson Hummingbird Original and J45 Standard. The guitar I got is absolutely FLAWLESS. I'm a hard man to please and Taylor delivered perfection with the build quality on this one. ZERO glue squeeze off and a perfect fit and finish make this feel like a perfectly built work of art. There is literally ZERO flaws on the one i got. Tonally the Sitka spruce top gives this guitar AWESOME projection and power. The Sapele back and sides give this guitar a beautifully rich woody tone that sparkles through while still having a nice warm low end presence and is the perfect blend. Soundwise it sounds in between mahogany and rosewood. The neck profile is perfect and finished in this INREDIBLE feeling satin finish that is just super comfortable to play. I love that the sides and back are also finished with this beautiful satin finish as it makes this guitar even more comfortable to play. I was nervous about the V brace given that my other acoustics are all X braced and the internet was quite divided on the V brace and that it made for a weaker, brighter and shrill sound. This guitar doesn't sound thin or underpowered and has beautiful clarity and articulation with a nice warm low end. The only small "con" is that i'm not the biggest fan of the inlays used on the 314. I find them a bit "gotti" looking and loud for my taste. I think the small diamond inlays would have looked better on this and again it's a small detail. I do still find the guitar good looking but a bit loud looking compared to my 200 series Taylors I cannot stress enough how much i LOVE this guitar. I still love my 214 and 217 but the 314 is just in a league of it's own and is making me seriously think of selling my Gibsons. If you want the perfect workhorse get yourself a 314CE. You will not regret it for a second.

I did my research for a few months to finally come to a decision on a new acoustic.
I had been playing mid priced guitars for many years. Some were quite good and some not so good. I had a better than average year financially and had some extra cash.
I wanted to upgrade my acoustic as I play them more than my bass and electric guitars.
I tried all the models (gibson, martin, godin, yamaha etc) in the $1800-3000 range and others that were cheaper in cost.
I tried the 314ce and I preferred this one to the others. It felt better in my hands, sounded like what I wanted to hear. It was nice and balanced to my ears. Tight Bass, nice mids and clear highs and never had muddy lows or too bright highs. Great balance in volume and projection on all strings.
The action and playability were more comfortable for me.
You can't go wrong with this guitar! Try one and hear for yourself.

Wow. Went from the 214ce (which I will not part with as it was such a solid guitar for me) to the 314 and after L&M explained what to expect,.... unreal! V bracing as mentioned above just vibrates on your body and sustains so well. Big plus: This beauty stays in tune for days on end!.

Had this 314 for 2 weeks now. It blows my mind everytime I pick it up, which is a lot. It is well rounded. The highs and mids are unbelievable. I’ve never had a guitar with such great sustain. You can feel the wood reverberate into your body. It’s like a massage. This thing has changed the way I play already. As you can tell I’m very happy with it. Sometimes you think, I’m just paying for the name but in this case its the quality you get for your money. No regrets.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
