I originally bought some of these to add some spice to my djembe and bongo playing, and they instantly livened up the sound! Soon, I started using them with other instruments such as my 6 piece acoustic drum kit, which you would think would be inaudible, but they gave my playing a noticeable "latin" feel. I also use them while playing my acoustic guitar in a percussive way.
I am a multi-instrumentalist, and I teach many instruments to my kids and their friends, and many adults, and I am going to buy a bunch more of these to expand the possibilities of their playing.
I highly recommend these, and if you don't have a set, you're really missing out!
