Expanded Features
Inside the Nitro module you'll also find valuable extras. The built-in learning features 60 play-along music tracks and an onboard metronome to improve your skills. There is even an advanced sequencer and a performance recorder to expand your music-making potential. In addition to the USB MIDI connection for use with computers and mobile devices, the Nitro module also offers up some old-school MIDI In and Out jacks so you can hook up to your favourite MIDI-equipped drum machine, sound module or other audio gear. Love the kit for it's overall functionality. But I keep breaking the kick. The metal just snaps. The rep in Montreal has been good, keeps sending me a new part, but if you are a drummer used to acoustic sets, you better kick pretty lightly.

Great value for what you get. The module isn't the most impressive, but the pads have an amazing feel to them. They have lots of rebound, and you can adjust them to your liking. If you are using plugins like Ezdrummer 3 or Superior Drummer 3 to trigger other sounds, it makes this kit an eazy 10/10.

Got it for Christmas with the expansions pack (4th tom and extra crash) also a drum stool.
It hooks up to my studio and I can play and record on all my drum vst's ML Drums, Addictive Drums, SSD5 etc...That feature is awesome as the built in sounds are not what I would use to play or record with but the unit does have some great features for learning and jamming.
The kick and snare are the week links imo, they are ok but they will be the first things I update. The toms and crashes are fine.
One issue with this kit is that it sits very low, so if you're tall like me 6ft or taller, you'll need some bed risers to raise it up, got mine at Amazon and they do the trick. Very Happy and recommend.

I purchased this today after much research on the kit, every single place I looked said it was really good with an average 4.5 and 4 stars. However once I assembled the thing and put my own pedal on it (Mapex Armoury Double pedal) and the kick drum only worked when I stomped it really hard. I then tried the shoddily built included kick pedal to the same results. Not only does the kick barely work but all of the kits have immense amounts of reverb and most of them have an terrible clicking sound. I'm going to be returning as soon as I can, I cannot recommend this kit to anyone at all.

Solid product. Purchased at the North York location and the service was great and the rep was knowledgeable. The product itself is great, no real worries so far. My only issue is with the instructions to put together. They look like an old-school Lego assembly and once I had it apart I actually had to disassemble a large portion to reverse some of the bars to make the clamps more accessible to adjust. This is relatively minor in the grand scheme. Once together, I'll never have to consider that problem ever again.

Bought the nitro kit and expansion kit. For 700.00 and the ALESIS site gives you free downloadable stuff when you register. You get a lot for such a low price.

Kit was interesting to build, i used to play with legos so the instructions were somewhat easy to read. I set it up and it sounds nice. Only set back was when i pugged my head phones in it wasn't working correctly, i figured out that you can't push the jack in all the way. anyway nice kit nice sounds. great for a guitarist who wants to learn.

I have had the kit for 2 months now and I am quite impressed. Firstly, I am brand new to drums and so I didn't want to spend a fortune. The kit itself took me some time to set up, but there were no problems. Everything went together as it should and it worked great right out of the box. The mesh heads do not feel exactly like acoustic drum heads, but they are very quiet which is great for practising at home. The downsides to the kit are that the frame is a bit flimsy. It flexes and moves a bit as I play and I am not a hard hitter. The tom sounds are very "digital" and not natural sounding, but the snare, kick and cymbals all sound OK. I don't like how small the snare is, as it is very easy to hit the rim (which stands quite proud of the head). Finally, the songs that come with the kit are very electronic/synth sounding. There is no hard rock, funk, or country but there are some songs in time signatures other than 4/4 which is nice. None of the negatives is detracting from my enjoyment of the kit. As I get better, I can imagine wanting to upgrade, but for a beginner this set is great.

I bought these in the fall of 2019. The price was right and I was growing beyond my dim light kit that I currently had. The features and sound are awesome! Being able to control the individual levels of each kit is super important to my needs. When I out grow these I will be looking at Alessis for the next level of e drumming.

Been drumming for a long time, total pleasure playing on this kit - great sound and amply solid enough if you're not taking it on the road consistently.

This drum kit has good features packed in it. Though it will be great to have a 2-zone ride to get a more realistic feel, it still gives you a lot of "voice" to choose from to get the sound you really want to produce on each component. I love the aux input for my portable audio device which allows me to practice using my own playlist. You would want to have a nice headphones so you can get the best sound output from the kit and the external device. Really enjoy the feel and sound on this kit.

Bought this 2 months ago and I had NEVER touch a drum in my life. I've been practicing 6-8 hours per week since and my only "con" is that the kit feels too small, but beside this, it's perfect ! Now, I'm already aiming to buy a bigger one :)

It Packs away and comes out when you need it. Great for rehearsal and just playing. really can't beat the price for quality. The midi allows the pads to use the best of the best drum sounds... I have the SR18 drum machine for creating beats to practice against. The sounds are awesome. I am not a drummer... this is the way to go if you are a musician or have limited space and need a kit for your drummer or yourself!

Vertical posts very short, like 3 feet high?!? Cymbals have terrible sensors and are not responsive at all. Drum pads are ok I guess, rolls are possible. Brain is very basic, standard tweaking is possible. Sounds are not bad for limited samples, I however use midi to trigger BFD3. NOTE: brain does not pass midi input through and only allows the input to control the internal brain sounds. Had to route the brain through another midi device to get it all on one midi input into daw.

Easy to assemble and an absolute blast to play. Pro drummers may criticize stability of the kit (when playing fast and hard). I`m not a great drummer but this affordable kit has brought so much joy and happiness to my studio. best 500 bucks I ever spent.

I got this for xmas. It was such a blast to play straight out of the box. Pros: Good sounds Fun to play Small footprint Cons: -Cheap construction of the cymbals. All three started to fall apart after five days -Snare is impossible to get in the right place & it moves no matter what -Rack is too short. Had to use blocks of wood to raise it up 8 inches Save your money & buy a better kit. I took mine back & am saving for a Roland.

I am not a pro drummer. but as far as I know. this kit is awesome. lots of preset, nice sound, you can move around the whole with one hand. the most I like is... all toms are mesh, snare has a frame shot, crash is chokable... for the price and kit itself I can compare this, to Vdrums of Roland... I love it...I might switch my line from vocalist to drummer... My only concern, hope there is one more tube rack to make it more stable. All in all its a five star.

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
