Les Paul Standard Plaintop
Epiphone's history with legendary guitarist and innovator Les Paul dates back to the early 1940's when Les, working late at night at the Epiphone factory on 14th Street in New York City, created what might have been the world's first solidbody electric guitar, better known as "The Log." Over the years, Les continued to work closely with Epiphone luthiers reviewing new product ideas and offering suggestions. Epiphone always made a good guitar, Les often said.
Perhaps Les greatest achievement, the Les Paul Standard, remains one of the most sought after guitars in the world 50 years since its first issue. Now, Epiphone's Les Paul Standard brings you the classic features and tone of Les invention with legendary Epiphone quality and value.

Players like Jimmy Page, Slash, Ace Frehley, Zakk Wylde, Alex Lifeson and countless others have loved the unique look and tone of the classic that Les Paul created years ago. And now, you too can experience the Les Paul Standard at a price that won't break the bank!

I scored this beauty off the internet for $250. The guitar is pretty much in mint condition and it looked and sounded really good. I decided to install SD '59 Humbuckers, which I bought from L&M and I'm not disappointed. It sounded fine with the stock PUPs; although, with these babies, it sounds like a much more expensive guitar! There is nothing bad that I can say about this guitar - nothing!

I'm playing this guitar completely stock and it is, it its own right amazing. One of these days I'm going to get around ton changing the pots and what not to what I like, but for a guitar its price, you can't go wrong. Especially for a beginner, this guitar would be awesome!

Features: The stock pickups are decent, tuners are solid. Quality: This is where to watch on these guitars. Compare a few different ones, some are built much better than others, and you'll feel it when you find the right one. Value: Its sounds great and plays well, especially when compared to more expensive guitars. Gibsons might be a bit better but its not worth at least twice the price unless your a professional musician, and even then its hard to justify. Overall: 4 stars. Find the gem of the bunch and you've got a killer guitar for around $500. I upgraded to Gibson pickups and its close enough to the real thing for me. I bought this guitar 6 years ago when i was just starting on electric, and I'll never get rid of it

I got mine used for $350 with a hard case, perfect condition. It looks so pretty, plays nice, and the tone is pretty good. I had a Squire Stratocaster before this, and for about the same money, this is a much better guitar to play and sounds better in my opinion, but thats a relative opinion. Really heavy duty and can take a beating, but it is heavy. After 40 mins of standing playing my shoulder hurts a bit, but a wider strap could also help that. Its about 3 years old and not a problem with it, and never even felt the need to tune it up. Good guitar, especially for the beginner

I recently got this guitar. I saw it in the blue colour and knew that's the one I wanted. I also tried it for a while and tried some other guitars and this one was the most comfortable to play and it sounded great. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a good heavy duty guitar.

I have owned this guitar since 2008 and it has been reliable and plays nice. Lets face it, the guitar is a $400 instrument, so if you are expecting the features and sound of a Gibson Les Paul, you will be disappointed. Some good points: - Finish is very nice, and stands up to wear and tear - Lots of room for tone improvisation with the use of tone pots - Stays in tune - classic Epi neck (chunky and comfy)

Superior quality and sound performance on all levels. The more I play it, the more I love it. And the price is very affordable. I would recommend this to anyone, whether beginner or seasoned musician.

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty.

Warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?

Performance Guarantee - normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage.

Product Replacement - if your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.

No Lemon Policy - your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.

Convenient - easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.

Guitar Setup - Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.

Loaners Available - a loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.

Power Surge Protection - your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.

Accessory Coverage - any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.

Commercial Use Coverage - music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty.Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, woodwind pads, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Accidental or cosmetic damage is not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

-----

Purchasing additional years of coverage

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

NEW products: 4% of selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.

USED products: 4% of selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year. Pricing for used electronic products is 4% of the original new selling price.

GUITARS: 4% of selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.

BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: $40 up to $2,000 selling price. BRASS and STRINGS: 2% of the selling price after $2,000. WOODWINDS: 4% of the selling price after $2,000.

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.
