I went for the 43-104s to compensate for the stated extra stiffness. I put them on my Squier 60s p-bass. These things are smoo-oo-ooth. Even more so than the D’Addario XL Chrome flats on my Fender j-bass. These La Bella flats make the p-bass sound like it’s suppose to — deep, mellow and thumpy. I won’t ever use anything else again.

I put a set of the 43 - 104s on my Squier CV 60s P-Bass. Wow! This is how a vintage P-Bass is supposed to sound like. A deep thump, mellow and none of the pingy brightness I get with rounds. Not too stiff. Not too floppy on the E. I also get a much better intonation with these than the 50-105 rounds I was using. Smooth feel. I will never go back to rounds.
