Composer: Arnold Schoenberg
Arranger: Jon Nelson
Format: Score and Parts
Instrumentation: Brass Quintet and Percussion (2 trumpets, horn, trombone, tuba, percussion)

This arrangement considers three perspectives through which the players can approach the piece. While Schoenberg was composing Opus 19, Gustav Mahler died. Anton Webern, a student of Schoenberg was at the time active as a conductor, championing works by Schoenberg, Mahler, Debussy, and Bruckner. Opus 19 straddles the end of romanticism, as Schoenberg was about to commence upon his journey into serial music. It is suggested that the players apply the lyricism of Mahler, the playfulness of Schoenberg, and the humour of Webern. - Jon Nelson

Each of the six players (brass quintet plus percussion) has a complete score. The pieces are short and there are no page turns.
