Living in Japan on a retiree's fixed income. I thought it was a great idea for car-camping, but when it arrived, found it Dead On Arrival. I have written to three representatives of that company ... Jack Tayor, Matt Connell, and Christoper Pendergast. '24 hours reply'? It has been 6 months, and I do not expect a reply. Like the product, the 'warranty' on their website is not worth the digital paper it is written on. Once they've got your money, game over. Caveat emptor.

Sounds are awful. Buy a pignose for small cheap portable sounds. Do not buy this terrible waste of time, money, components. Looks terrible, sounds terrible, is terrible. Ignore those that say it's great. They likely are comparing it to other more terrible things. If you too would like to compare it to terrible things though...Metal zone into a line 6 stacked with a Clapton pedal is still better, imo.

I returned my Jamstack back in May 2019 as per their instructions specified in their email instructions. It is now November 1st and have yet to relieve a credit. They will not respond to emails or their chat on Facebook. There is NO phone number and NO company address. So I owned it - returned it - and they have it - yet I still own it since they won't credit me. Horrible company!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! If you buy and are disappointed and want to return the product - good luck getting your money back. Their info@jamstack email address is an empty hole & they won't respond. If anyone has a phone number or the company address, please post & share it!

I had the same issues with sound quality that I’m reading in other reviews. I tried 4 different guitars and the sound was just terrible.

So, I actually found the unit a bit challenging to sort out at first but Jamstack actually had very good technical support. I read a few reviews about people with tech support challenges online so when I couldn’t get it going I was worried this was going to suck. It was actually a really simple problem and Jamstack helped me out right away. I can do a lot with the Jamstack and the sound is very good for the size. Tech support guy mentioned an even louder version in the works... Basically a great option for picking up and playing with endless effects whenever you feel like it. A buddy of mine has something else called an I-rig which was cheaper but you still need to buy an amp and lug it around and if i’m going to do that, I may as well bring my whole kit which defeats the purpose in my opinion. Overall i’m good with my purchase. Looking forward to see what they can squeeze out of the next version for volume.

Hey guys, not sure what all the whining is about but I am having a blast with my Jamstack. I've just spent the last week playing along to all the rock music on my phone. Already noticing an improvement in my playing. Also, probably the best Bluetooth speaker i've seen at this size.

This thing has got me playing guitar a lot more often. It really is made quite well, and super easy to use. I think you definitely need to be comfortable with iPhone effects apps. I think people who don't have experience shaping sounds will get poor results as it really makes a difference. Bypass mode is pretty boring, but I can get incredible tone using Tonebridge for iOS. Would highly recommend if you're comfortable getting used to the software.

Caveat emptor! Buy JamStack at your own risk. I made the mistake of doing so and have been thoroughly disappointed. I know there are people making comments about how happy they are but following the company's instructions, I have not been able to get any sound out of this product that is anything but pathetic (I have tried it on all 5 of my guitars). If you play it on pass-through, the sound is okay at best. If you play it through an amp on your iPhone, the sound is awful and there are constant dropouts. Note that in the demo, much of the sound is overdubbed. At the suggestion of JamStack, I went to one of the biggest guitar stores in Toronto and tested JamStack with their guitar techs on many different guitars?and got the same bad results. So not only was I not able to make JamStack work as advertised, experienced guitar technicians were not able to make it work either. But what about contacting tech support at JamStack you may ask? The moment they realized I had a legitimate issue, tech support disengaged from me'twice. Not being able to address my issue and confronted by the fact that the non-performance of this product was replicated over and over on various guitars by reputable guitar technicians, they stopped replying to my emails (should the company claim otherwise, I have the entire email the thread that I can share publicly, if necessary). As I have told the company, I am totally open to the idea that I am using it incorrectly in spite of the fact that I have followed all of their online directions and that tech support has given me advice on how to fix the problem (none of which worked). However, it now refuses to address the serious problem with their product as discovered by myself and the guitar technicians at Long and McQuade. So if you choose to buy this product, do so knowing that it has a significant known defect that makes it NOT work as advertised. RESPONSE FROM JAMSTACK: Hi Ian. To our disappointment, we discovered that a few units have been shipped out with a manufacturing defect of a phone cable which compromises the sound quality. Although the error was out of our control, please accept my sincere apologies. It took us some time to sort through this issue but we've put the necessary process in place to help so you can play on your Jamstack the way it was meant to be played! [email protected]

I bought this gadget after seeing it on Dragons den. I wanted to like it and while it looks good there are too many drawbacks to recommend it. My biggest complaint is the sound. Not sure where all these reviews about amazing sound are coming from but that was not my experience at all. The sound was thin and tinny. Not too mention I had to have the volume and tone controls all the way up on the guitar to get any kind of usable volume. Turn it below 8 and I heard nothing at all. When turned up the other issue I had was feedback. This thing is attached to your guitar and when it plays with usable volume it vibrates your guitar which creates lots of feedback. I found it unusable and returned it after two days of trying. As for it's use as a Bluetooth speaker, there are many speakers that sound much better for less money. RESPONSE FROM JAMSTACK: Hi Rodney. It sounds like your unit may have a defective cable as well. Please contact us so we can send you a replacement cable. You won't be disappointed with the sound once we get you up and running. Always happy to help! - [email protected]

I remembered this thing from Dragon's Den and the price point is crazy reasonable so I figured i?d give it a go. Packaging and presentation is killer. Very Slick. Setup was pretty simple bordering on instant once you've done it a few times. Sound quality is really good. Been using Tonebridge App with an Iphone 7. Volume is very good for the size. No issues at all for practicing. I could totally busk with this but I don't busk so there you go. I don't see any compelling reason why I?d set up my rig at home with this thing around unless I had a very specific reason to. Could use a little more volume as a blutooth speaker but the thing weighs like a pound and pushes more than enough on my guitar. Good job Jamstack

Incredible sound quality coming from such a small amp. Engineering behind the guitar clamp is awesome and love how I can use in conjunction with my iPhone. Great product for practising or shredding around the campfire.

A central feature of the promotion of this product is how loud it is. It isn't. If you have a guitar with double coil pickups, the volume is ok on the passthrough setting but there is volume loss and sound dropout when you use the amps. Don't even bother considering this if your guitar has single coil pickups. On passthrough setting, the sound sounds like it is coming out of a soup can. Its performance with amps is pathetic. The tests that led to these results were done in conjunction with guitar techs at Long & McQuade. And for strike three, the company has horrible customer support. It can take 7-10 days to get a reply, or never. They refuse to acknowledge the single coil/double coil problem even though they must have known this to be true from their own testing.

If you have an s9 forget about it. Latency issues. Volume issues. The so called best app deplike or whatever nerfs your volume and it's like having THE CHEAPEST multi pedal you can find.

I bought this and brought it home to try right away. I like the idea and wanted to like the product but I just can't. It has too many flaws and for the price just isn't worth it. I am not sure if my unit had issues but it took me a while to get sound out of it. It seems my guitar volume had to be up around 9 or 10 for sound to come out. Not very loud at all. Anything below 8 and the string noise is louder than the amp. I thought I could use it as a Bluetooth speaker as well, which you can but it just doesn't sound very good. For the price there are many better options out there for a Bluetooth speaker. As an amp, as I said my unit was not very loud and when I cranked everything up to 10, the sound was usable but there is no nuance or dynamics to it. On top of that because it's attached to the guitar, when it is turned up it vibrates the guitar which causes feedback. I did enjoy the fact that it frees you from being tied to an amp but the sound just isn't good enough or loud enough to even play with other acoustic instruments. I will be returning it tomorrow. I tried it again the next day and could not even get through a song without the sound constantly dropping out. Maybe the next version will solve some of these issues but not sure how you can get around the feedback issue. The build quality is good and it fit my guitar (Gibson SG) fine but it won't work if you have a strap lock. They do provide a regular strap knob if that's the case though.

I was able to get one of the initial shipments of the Jamstack about a month ago and I have literally been using the Jamstack 3-4 times a day now. I have now been taking my electric guitar with me literally everywhere I go and leaving the acoustic at home. The sound quality on the amp is amazing and not to overwhelming like when I use my bigger rig so I can play my guitar in almost any setting with quality sound. If you are someone like me who likes to leave his guitar on the stand and pick it up 4 or 5 times a day for a quick 10-15 min practice session, The Jamstack is perfect, cause I just leave it attached to my guitar, hit a button and start practicing in a few seconds -- no fuss. The phone connection makes practicing the guitar fun again! I have learnt the guitar track to 5 of my favorite songs in the past month alone, over maybe one or two all of 2018!! Finally the Jamstack is amazing as just a stand-alone Portable Bluetooth speaker that I would say rivals my Bose one to just listen your favorite music. You are really getting 2 products in 1 with the Jamstack. I would highly recommend the Jamstack for guitar players of ALL levels. Its the perfect amp for beginner and moderate guitar players but even the most professional player will benefit from the Jamstack's ease of use, portability and multitude of features. And for practicing (which is how I spend 98% of my time on my guitar)...bigger is not always better... when I use my amp I usually have to put my headphones in to avoid bothering my wife and neighbours. With the Jamstack I can turn the amp down to a reasonable sound level and still get stellar sound without bothering anyone! Why hasn't anyone thought of this sooner!

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
