The MT 15 is a commanding two channel amp with balanced aggression and articulation. Powered by 6L6 tubes, the MT 15 has a large, bold sound, so you can dig in heavy with rhythms but also get singing lead tones out of one amp. Whether recording, practicing, writing, or playing a small room, this amp has everything you need.
The MT 15's design started with heavier players in mind, but in the end, it has a lot to offer players of all genres. Like the PRS Archon amplifier, the MT 15 features five gain stages before the Master for full, lush distortion. The gain channel gets big, chunky tone with massive, tight low end, but it never loses its articulate note definition or great lead tone. The clean channel is bright and chimey, good with chords and fingerstyle playing - whether with a pic or not. The clean channel also features a push/pull boost control that adds a little overdrive for old school crunch. No matter what tone you dial in, the MT 15 stays balanced across the spectrum with a sweet, smooth tone that won't bite your head off.
Additional features include an effects loop and bias adjusters that are accessible from the back panel for ease of servicing. Despite its 15 watts, the MT 15 sounds more like 50, so a half power switch that takes the MT to 7 watts is a welcome addition. Bottom line, the amount of features, the hugeness of the sound, and the raw horsepower of the circuit make the MT 15 an impressive lunchbox hero.

I'm very happy with the clean channel, and with a little wetness in the effects loop it has replaced a defective FSR Princeton admirably. I think the lead channel is incredible. I haven't found a use for the clean 'pull boost' yet. I alternate between two different sized cabinets (1x12, 1x8) and am pleased with the sound the amp sends both.
One very minor criticism- the panel labelling of the 'standby' switch seems counter-intuitive to me. Toggling up to 'Power on' means the power is on, toggling up to 'standby on' does not mean the standby is on. When the switch is toggled up to where it says 'standby on', the standby isn't 'on'. Toggling down puts it in standby.

Came into the store to trade in a guitar, and decided to browse some amps with my new cash. Having done zero research, I plugged into a few different amps, but when I plugged into the PRS MT15 I knew right away. Im an experienced performing musician in multiple heavier bands, and this thing punches well above its weight. At 15W, it can still keep up with and cut through larger amps. Most venues mic your cabs anyway so the wattage ultimately doesnt matter. But the tone is just unreal. At every show ive played since purchasing it, ive had people come up and ask what amp I use because it sounds so good. This. Thing. F***S!!!!

Way louder than my Mesa RA-100 ever claimed to be!
The build quality is amazing and sounds great. The clean channel is the best I have heard this far and the dirty channel is absolutely crushing!!

...and happily so. The Mesa was over 100lbs and this is much more portable. I like the clean tone better on my PRS but I use a Blues Driver for added crunch this amp doesn't deliver and the drive channel is insane. I've used it in gigs and the volume is definitely there. I would have liked reverb, line direct and as I said boost on the clean would help so I use the treble boost. This amp is a keeper

Amazing for guitar, but I also play bass. Plug in your favorite 8 ohm bass cabinet and get a nice juicy bass tone, especially on the 15W setting. Can also keep up with a quiet drummer if your cab is efficient enough. I suspect they gave it lots of low end for down-tuned guitars, so it's not surprising how good a bass sounds through it.

Just a quick update to my original review, the amp sounds A LOT better on the 15W than the 7W setting, more alive and better low end, even when turned down to match the volume at the 7W setting. Not sure why, but it just sounds flatter and lifeless on the 7W setting. Again, adjusting the volume using the effects loop and a volume pedal or ART Headtap helps enormously to tame the output, which starts loud and gets louder very fast when you turn it up. Note: The latest version of the amp uses 5881s for power tubes, not 6L6s as per the description on the LM website, although they are virtually the same tube with a shorter "bottle" and slightly lower power spec.

Lots of features at this price (full eq on each channel) and power point (not to mention the weight and form factor) which are all awesome, but...
I would add a resonance control to give it a bit more class-A type response when desired, especially on the clean channel which sounds rather compressed and unresponsive compared to my other tube amps.
The boost on the clean channel could be "boostier". Still needs a boost pedal to get a really pushed sound.
Also needs an overall master gain for both channels. With the master on the high-gain channel just on to even make the amp audible, it's already too loud for after 11pm, and that's on the 7W setting!
This is easily solved on the current model just by putting a volume pedal or attenuator of some sort in the effects loop.
I put in an ART head-tap in the effects loop and now I can make it whisper quiet for late night practice. Huge improvement, because as another reviewer said it's stoopid loud.
I would buy it again or compare it with the EVH model that just came out - almost a dead copy, even has the LEDs! Or the Peavey lunchboxes. Not stocked in most stores, so hard to comparison shop.

This amp might be small, but it is a beast in tone! I cannot get over how good it sounds on both the clean and the dirty channel. I've literally been playing this thing non-stop - the sound is just awe-inspiring. The only thing I wish is that they added a button to engage the clean boost on the footswitch, but man everything else is phenomenal, especially for the price.
Note: it says 15WT but it is LOUD. Like wall-rattlingly loud.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.
How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
- Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
- Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
- No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
- Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
- Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.

Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.
Purchasing additional years of coverage
Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.
If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:
- NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
- USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
- GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
- BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
