I have rented this guitar for some time and I am extremely satisfied! Sound on clean is amazing. Shredding is amazing. This slapping sound on bridge humbucker is superb. The only small thing is the middle pickup sometimes is in the way, especially when speed playing

This Les Paul Epiphone is an amazing runner up to a Gibson Les Paul. The only issue i've had is with using the rhythm setting, which creates an annoying feedback on high volume. Other than that, this was definitely not a waste of $300. i Strongly recommend this guitar to any beginners of the Les Paul family who also want that Guns n' Roses feel or sound because that is what this guitar will give you.

If you're looking at this audacious beauty, youre probably drawn to the 3 pup gimmick, as was I. However, make sure you also check its 2 pup brother, the Les Paul Custom Tuxedo. It also comes with all the binding and gold hardware of this bad-boy, but is a 2 pup model. So why look at the 2 pup? Well, like others have said, the 3 pups balls kind of fall off when you switch to the mid position. It gets muddy and thin, probably due to poorly matched output on the pups. Maybe some lowering of the middle pup would help. I dont know, i never brought it home and went with the 2pup tuxedo instead. In either case You will probably want to swap out the stock Epi Alnico V potted pups. Theyre not bad, but theyre nothing to write home about either. I put a set of SD Synister Gates into mine (Invader SH-8n and b) and my Tuxedo became a Lester on 'roids! If you're going for a more classic/vintagy tone, then you shoudl spring for the Gibson classic '57/'57plus set. For modern hard rock, the Slash APH-2 set from Seymour is another nice option (although not available with a gold cap). At any rate, out of the box it isnt a 'bad' guitar. But if you want it sounding great, your gonna upgrade the guts. In terms of finish, well.. its a Chinese made Epi so there is little bits of bleed and bare wood where their imperial overlords cracked the whip at the factory and made the poor little dude rush to finsish. Also, the wood is not dried long enough and is a bit powdery (open up the kidney cavity and you'll see what i mean). But - if these are things you're picky about, then look instead at the Ace Frehly made by Gibson CS. (And expect to pay a LOT more). Either the 2 or 3 pup are great looking gits and play nice with 50's style necks. String them up with 0.052"s and let er rip. PS This is a modern sounding Lester. it has little ceramic 44uf caps ie, brittle tone. You will not get vintage Zep-style tone from either 2 or 3 pups versions oout of the box. Also, ive had mine for 5 years now and the tuning heads (gold grovers) and starting to oxide. I like the look and the patina. But just saying the gold finish will NOT last forever. Do not string it OVER the stopbar (ala Jimmie Page) or you WILL scrape off the gold finish. AND, do not polish the pups when they get grotty from fingerprints, the gold will rub off and you will have nickel pups with a gold periphery. | PPS : I own it means i have the tuxedo. I tried the BB 3-pup and didnt like the drop-out on the middle pup. I bought the 2-pup tuixedo instead.

Love this guitar, use all the time. It barely goes out of tune and is very comfortable to play. Recommend this guitar for a guitarist who wants quality on a budget.

This was my third guitar i've ever bought. Its a great guitar, and its top notch Epiphone, and sounds just like any Gibson ive played. Everything about it is great apart from the Rhythm pick up, whenever i put distortion on it (When im playing some power chords) the sound quality just drops, i dont know why,its apparently a problem everyone has with this guitar. The other 2 pick ups are great, yet i rarely use the middle pick up, usually just Rhythm and Treble. The gain sound on the treble pick up is amazing, and i play a lot of Guns N Roses, Velvet Revolver, Aerosmith, Led Zepplin and the solo sounds i can get just on the Treble pick up and with my Wah pedal is insane. All in all, a great buy and best Epiphone ive ever played. My advise: If your playing lead guitar, go ahead and get this. If your playing back up guitar: Go for a nice Ibanez or Fender.

the closest you can get to a gibson! visually, a beauty... quality, superb! humbuckers overdrive amps much differently; great blend of tight bass; sparkly treble; a clean attack. really nice! very lucky to have bought it for only $500! - included strap, hard case & stand.

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
