There are two types of BOSS footswitches to chose from depending on the application. The FS-5U (momentary type) engages a function while you hold down the switch. The FS-5L (latch type) changes the on/off status each time you press the switch.

Question: Do I need to use a normal patch cable with this if using with the Boss JB-2, or the TRS style cable?

Answer: This switch would use a normal TS 1/4" patch cable.

Works great! It works better than the switch that came with my amp. This switch offers a much smoother transition when going back and forth between the two channels of my amp. No noise, no pauses, just a smooth switch over.
