I recently got this 20 watt Marshall studio vintage head with the matching 2x12 sv cab, and quite simply stated, it is just fantastic. Great sound from clean to edge of breakup tones, to full out rock. It brings that Strat sound out of my Fender American Vintage ii 1961 Strat, it has that Hendrix/SRV ‘thing’ and it just looks so cool! I use it with the inputs jumpered to run both channels at the same time, using both volumes together as many do with the Plexi style amps, and I run a reverb and delay through the effects loop, all other pedals into the front of the amp, and it works flawlessly, and sounds glorious. I also run the head through a Berringer attenuator to tame the over all volume down for in house playing, even though it’s ’only 20 watts’ it’s quite loud, even running it in the 5 watt low power setting. Thanks again to Dan McNab at Brampton store for bringing in the head locally and the cabinet from out of province for me, always a pleasure dealing with Dan and the Brampton store. If you’re into classic rock, blues, Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan and all around great tone, try this amp out, you won’t be disappointed.

This amp can reach nearly unrivalled territory like only its big brother and the fender bassman can. This is the rock sound. It is every beautiful sound all at once. But if you aren't using an amp blanket (ie an attenuator) that beauty comes at a cost.
To get the true power and sound of the amp i jumper it and run each channel on almost half with the guitar opened up. I cant get within 40 feet of the 4x12 without the sound beam ripping my ears to shreds. I know its 40 feet because that's how long my longest cable is.
I play in a barn the size of an arena that is located in the country and the neighbours who are a km away can easily hear the amp. I doubt there is anyone on earth with uncompromised hearing who wouldn't suffer immediate and serious permanent damage if they got within 10 feet of the amp.
This is easily the most penetrating 20 watts my ears have ever taken. People and farm animals run away and hide when they are within 100 feet. It is more penetrating than my 100 watt 900 or 100 watt dsl. This amp is as bright as the sun, and getting close to it has the same result. You get lost in the beauty as it consumes your senses.
Trust me. Crank a deluxe reverb, which is also rated at 20 watts, and when you are a football field away it will sound like it's a pancake still on standby. Not this WMD.
So grab your chainsaw ear muffs, lower the blades to head mowing level and expose your enemies to the true power of the dark side.

A fantastic amp at saner volume levels. Great for jamming, practicing and recording. When you find the sweet spot for your particular taste, you will be in Marshall heaven.

I had to wait nine months of Marshall factory delays due to COVID for the head to arrive. Sure this amp "cleans up", but really it goes from rock to ROCK. Its an attenuator master volume amp that looks as good as it sounds.

This amp is a legend... The tone will make you happy. Very happy. This amp is perfect for anything except bedroom playing, you'll need an attenuator for that.
If you're worried that 20watts isn't enough let me tell you it's plenty.
"oh but it won't have enough bottom end" RUBBISH! Pair it with a 4x12 and sit perfectly in the mix. Get yourself a quality cab, 2x12 or 4x12 and you'll be shocked at how tight the bottom end is.
I put an EarthQuaker Plumes and a Union More in the front when jamming in the studio..... The More gives you some sweet breakup without using an attenuator. BTW the volumes are still only on 1 and I'm getting dynamic beautiful 70s rock tones, thick and chimey ooh yeah come to mama. Buy it.
This amp is the real deal so stop screwing around buying and selling amps trying to find your tone.... It's inside this box!
