THE COMPACT LOADBOX, ATTENUATOR, AND AMP DI

The Torpedo Captor is the little brother of the award-winning Torpedo Reload. The Torpedo Captor is an easy to use reactive Loadbox perfect for unleashing your favourite tube amp in a variety of modern applications and venues. If you just require attenuation from your amp to your cab, Captor has you covered. And if you want an easy and modern way to record your tube amp, Captor is simply "load" and record.

Reactive loadbox
Playing silently or at low volumes is often a requirement, especially at home but more and more on stage or in the studio. To play your amp without a cabinet you need a Loadbox. Two notes is known for the most accurate and feature rich Loadboxes in the world, using the reactive technology, in other words mimicking perfectly the impedance of a speaker. Your amp will absolutely believe it's connected to a real cabinet.

Analog speaker sim
When using the Captor on stage to feed a PA, you will need to polish the sound coming from your amp. The analog speaker sim is derived from the acclaimed Le Preamp series. You will be able to get a detailed and focused sound for your monitor or the front of house while keeping a low volume on stage. Add a Torpedo C.A.B. with its large collection of IR Cab Sims for the ultimate direct solution.

Format, versions
The Captor is the size of a large DI box, so you can conveniently place it on your pedalboard or on top of your amp. The Captor comes in 4, 8 or 16 Ohm versions, make sure to get the one that matches with your amp.

Attenuator
If you wish to keep a cabinet on stage, the Captor features a direct speaker THRU or ATT output. It allows for full volume or a fixed 20dB attenuation. Keep your amp in its sweet spot while at manageable volumes.

Ive flipped back and forth between the digital and analog world for a long time now, recently got a killer deal on a Mesa 550 combo and couldn't pass it up. loved the sound of it so much that it made my Kemper feel stale ( not to say that it isn't great product, because it is and if I was to buy another modeller that would be it). only issue was that even at 5w I couldn't get decent volume and not risk divorce. enter the captor, I honestly wasn't even sure if it was that great but once I was able to crank the amp with and without the attenuator I saw the difference!!! keep your tone and save you ears and family!! haven't tried to go into my DAW yet but im sure that will be great as well!! don't hesitate and pick one of these up!

Being on a tone chasing frenzy, I was looking for something that would enable me to do silent recording as well as tame my tube amps. After much research, I found the two notes captor. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the captor X as the release date had been postponed due to the pandemic. So I purchased a captor 8. I was uncertain with the reviews about it. everyone I heard never used the onboard cab simulator. I bit the bullet and ordered it anyways. Well the first thing I do Is plug it in to my interface and hook my 50W Traynor amp to it. Well I have to admit the cab sim is spectacular. so much so that I now use it at rehearsals to our mixing console. I also use it in a 4 cable method into Helix and use post effects on the amp. Really brings out the best of amps. The only issue I have is the lack of other cab sim's but they fixed that with the captor x.

Using TwoNotes gear for years and was newer disappointed! Captor is not an exception. Works really well and do the job perfectly. Using as attenuators for my Mesa Mark V:25 at home and as load box to go directly to FOH live. This thing rocks!

I've been using various Two Notes products to deliver exceptional studio quality amp mic'ing to FOH for a bunch of years without a single hassle. The owner of the company is super accessible by email and incredibly supportive. Any amp tech that thinks a reactive load causes an amp to run harder should have documentation to back that up. Tech have been using various forms off reactive loads for decades to bias amps. Disregard the above review it's clearly written by someone who has been fed a line of organic fertilizer.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
