Pretty hard to do a review for something as basic as this. It does what it's supposed to do. After almost 50 years I needed to replace the volume controls in my 71 Les Paul Deluxe. The control cleaner and other methods just weren't helping any more. I ordered the 500 ohm long shaft as recommended for Les Paul models without taking apart my guitar first. When I did remove them for replacement, I found that the new pots with the long shaft were too long. I could have ordered the regular shaft length and it would have been fine. They make them that way to fit the contoured tops of the Les Paul and there is an adjustment that allows you to set the height of the volume control on the top of the guitar. 50 years ago, they were making the "pancake" bodies on LP models rather than the one piece bodies which they currently use. That might have something to do with it? Any way. does it fit....yeah with some finagling. Sound wise, it's right on! Exactly what I needed. Nice and smooth and with the same feel ( turning resistance) as what was in the guitar. If these last as well as the originals, I wont need to be replacing them in my lifetime...LOL.

I used these pots for both volume and tone. They work smoothly without any issues. These were installed in my early 2000s Epi Les Paul. The description states that these are for Gibson SGs, ES-335s, etc., however, my LP uses short shaft pots. So check which one's you need before purchasing. The only issue was that the shaft diameter was larger than the holes in my guitar. I had to enlarge the holes slightly to make these fit. Shaft diameter is approximately 3/8? (9.5mm).

Currently, what is shown on the L&M site is not the correct image. If you go to the Gibson website it will show the correct image of this pot. However, contrary to the bad review of this pot, I found that it works well. It turns smoothly and the push-pull is not too stiff. I used this pot when I upgrade the pickups and electronics in my early 2000s Epi Les Paul. I coil split my new pickups and this pot does the job great. However, the shaft size was too large for the existing holes in my LP and I had to enlarge the holes slightly for the pot to fit. Shaft size is approximately 3/8? (9.5mm).
