I use this for my guitars and bass and totally recommend one. String changes used to be annoying trying to hold a string in place (especially the thinner strings) while turning the tuner to pull the string tight. Now I hold the string in place and use this tool to quickly tighten the tuner until this tool slows down when there is tension on the string. String removal is quick as well, just make sure you select the correct direction of rotation. The rocker button for direction of travel is simple, press at the top to rotate clockwise, press at the bottom to rotate counter clockwise. The head of the unit where it meets the tuner has groves to accommodate larger tuning heads and groves for smaller. It requires 4 AA's and so far my unit with new batteries has lasted over a year with no need to replace batteries yet.

Best tool in my studio tool box. How did I live without this for so long. I have 14 guitars and it makes working on them so much easier. Even if I only had 1 guitar, I would still own one.
