Like the 5RV, Vandoren 5RV Lyre Bb clarinet mouthpiece is an excellent choice for the advancing student or for general playing. With a slightly more open tip, the Vandoren 5RV Lyre takes a slightly lighter reed, giving the player more flexibility and a more open sound.

Super comfortable & produces a great sound. I'm pretty picky about mouthpieces, but this one is awesome. Be warned that it doesn't come with its own ligature or mouthpiece cover.

Vandoren still makes really great mouthpieces (arguably the best for the price). With a friendly and helpful Long&McQuade people, we had a chance to test all new Rico Reserve and M15. Rico Reserve are quite nice, but with harder reeds (4.5-5), M15 really shines. Amazing mouthpiece (the previous mouthpiece was M13 lyre, which is really great but M15 allows to take it a step further!)
