Amazing value. Solid wood, made in USA, hardshell case, electronics and a white binding (only on the front though). Gibson knocked it out of the park on these and took a step back with the Latter edition G45 with the playerport.

Over the years I have owned many acoustics. I went in to the local L&M and tried a few guitars in the acoustic room. I noticed the Gibson G-45 Studio and Standard on the wall and tried both. Both Standards had nitro peeling from side of richlite fretboard. I’m not a big fan of richlite. I enjoyed the sound from the G-45 Studio more as well. When I looked at the price tag , I had to have it. Love the guitar. Can’t go wrong for a solid wood Gibson acoustic.

Picked this up a couple of weeks ago, it was used and as part of L&M's inventory sale, so I got a very good price on it. I really like the sound and playability of this guitar. Apparently Gibson has discontinued this model so get one while you can. Thanks to the Sydney L&M staff for their (as always) attentive, friendly service.

Like every other acoustic guitar I've bought, I spent a couple days demoing and comparing every guitar in the city that I could afford. I easily played well over 50 guitars in the $1000- $2500 range while shopping, and the G-45 I purchased was one of the nicest guitars I played. To beat it by any noticeable margin I would have had to spend at least 3x as much. In its class, a nice example is unbeatable IMO.

This guitar is pretty fantastic. I own the left handed version. The fingerboard feels super comfortable and is ultra-playable. It isn't the loudest or most low-end heavy guitar, but it has quite the balanced sound. I owned it for a week and fell into the trap of reading one or two reviews online about it (despite there being overwhelming praise) commenting on its low end/richness not being up to snuff. So, I went back to L&M and brought my G45...played a J-15 and the G45 back and forth for a couple hours, trying to capture what was happening. Here's what I found: The J-15 certainly has more low-end and a tad more depth to it, but I honestly kept picking up the G45 and realizing that it was just so much more comfortable to play and sounded a bit sweeter. The J-15 is built better for sure, in terms of weight and the headstock etc.. But the J15 is $1100 more...and I honestly couldn't see spending another $1100 for a bit more volume and low end. Granted it is a fantastic guitar...it just didn't make sense for me. The g45 is as sweet as can be, and sure, it lacks a bit on the low end side of things but it is an absolutely beautiful creation from Gibson. I plan on replacing the truss rod cover, however, as it looks sort of cheap. Just me, though.

Ok, I purchased a Lerrivee last week, love it to death!! I call it a Martin killer. I previously owned a D-45, beautiful in its own right. The second stand out was the Gibson G-45. At half the cost of the Larrivee, it was a no brainer. I went back to L&M and go the Gibson! Now I have two amazing acoustic guitars!! Thx to the awesome people in the acoustic department. Be safe!

An L&M customer had purchased a Gibson G45 Studio and after a very brief amount of time & returned it to the store. L&M now had to sell this guitar as used, which is where I come in. I had been searching for quite some time for an acoustic guitar to upgrade what I was currently using. I had played several guitars, everything from high end Martins to low end Epiphones. I decided that my price point would be mid-range, but then discovered the 'entry level' Gibson G45. Walnut back, sides and finger board with a spruce top. All wood, made in the USA. It plays extremely well and sounds beautiful, for a guitar in this price point. And bonus, it comes with a Gibson brand hard-shell case, which alone would run close to $200. I ended up picking up for an absolute steal! If you're looking for an entry level/mid-range all wood guitar, I highly recommend checking this out.

This guitar gives a great feeling when played . It is a great guitar , nicely built , the fit and finish are great , ( even for Gibson lol ) at an unbelievable price . You can not get anything made in the USA that even comes close, price wise. I tried two of them and fell in love with one , which had the openness and airy feel . The only downside is the Satin finish but I got used to it quickly . This is where good service and good store make a difference. Thanks you Sebastian at L&M ...

Needed a replacement for my battered old Yamaha, and wanted something with onboard pickup. Tried a few different products, didn't care for the higher end Yamaha playability and didn't want to jump up to $3000 to get a solid wood Taylor, or Martin with pickups, so my local store rep pulled a brand new G45 out of the box and handed it to me. It doesn't have the boomy projection that I'm used to in a Gibson, which is perfect for my tone preference. The neck feels incredible, and I love the walnut neck and bridge. Another bonus is that Gibson uses a Tusq nut, saddle and bridge pins, which I prefer over the plastic that most others use.

Went into the store looking for a j45 , played a couple and then I saw this guitar , picked it up and 4 hours later I was leaving the store with her tucked away in the included case! Plays like a dream , sounds incredible , and at 1/2 the price of the guitars I was originally looking at! Pick it up, play it , fall in love and take it home!

When I first saw this guitar in the store I thought for that price it's got to be a laminate and made overseas or Mexico. To my surprise it is made in Bozeman, is solid wood all around and sounds awesome, it plays as easy as my 600 series Taylor. And that it comes with a hard case and strap is an extra bonus.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
