The most popular audio interface for artists across all genres, the third-generation Scarlett 2i2 provides two mic/line/instrument inputs allowing simultaneous recording and playback of up to two channels with independently controllable headphone and monitor outputs.

The 2i2 features two upgraded third-generation Scarlett mic preamps: with optional Air setting to reproduce the Air effect of Focusrites original ISA mic preamp, giving your vocal and acoustic recordings a brighter and more open sound.

Equipped with high performance 24-bit/192kHz AD-DA converters, Scarlett guarantees the same professional sound quality throughout the third-generation range.

The high impedance, high-headroom instrument inputs allow you to record guitar or bass - without any clipping or unwanted distortion, while Gain Halo metering makes it easy for you to set the input level.

Scarlett 2i2 is designed to stand up to days on the road, and connects straight to your Mac® or PC via USB cable, with no external power required. It comes with all the software tools you need to get started, including two comprehensive digital audio workstations: Ableton® Live Lite™ and Pro Tools® First Focusrite Creative Pack. Intuitive enough for beginners yet advanced enough to inspire real creativity with great-sounding effects.

And as with all Focusrite products, you'll also benefit from a two-year warranty, award-winning customer support and membership of their Plug-in Collective offering free software downloads and generous discounts.

I got it on sale so it was pretty worth it. I've used it to record drum recordings. I've had it for about a year and there hasn't been any problems with it.

This is an excellent choice for starting out with. I was debating between this and the PreSonus Studio 24C. I came across a post from Rec****.com that sealed the deal for me, he went over the pros can cons of each. This comes with Ableton Live, which I've been using the trial for a few weeks, so I decided bite the bullet and get this and a pair of Shure SRH240A Headphones. Now I can hear the distinct differences in pans and frequencies. Design is solid, Vol buttons are a little close but still usable, buttons click nice and TRS snaps in with satisfaction. Looking forward to seeing how this holds up.

I just upgraded yesterday from a Tascam us122MkII which I had for years. I was up and running in minutes (on a Mac, don't know about PC). Acoustic guitar is crip and brilliant, I haven't done vocals yet. Even when recording into a complex project there is no noticeable latency at all. Same with electric guitar using heavy effects and amp sims in Logic. No need for direct monitoring workaround. This sets up easily and works perfectly.

big improvement over the gen 2 model. wider, clearer, more punch. I noticed a big improvement rite away. the volume knobs on these units are a bit close to the headphone jack and headphone volume making it a tight squeeze but all of them have been like that. all and all a good purchase

This works OK but has a high latency over USB... When Monitoring Soft Synths from Computer over USB through this Focusrite I/O, The Delay is too vast to play comfortably... The Claim of zero latency will only apply if you are using the Direct monitor time shift feature to make the input track line up with the monitored track.... Unfortunately, time shifting only works during recording and playing virtual instruments still have a latency even with the smallest buffers.

Focusrite // Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen - Overview feat. Karun
L&M @ NAMM 2020: Focusrite Scarlett 3rd Gen

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty.

Warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?

Performance Guarantee - normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage.

Product Replacement - if your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.

No Lemon Policy - your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.

Convenient - easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.

Guitar Setup - Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.

Loaners Available - a loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.

Power Surge Protection - your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.

Accessory Coverage - any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.

Commercial Use Coverage - music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty.Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, woodwind pads, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Accidental or cosmetic damage is not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

NEW products: 4% of selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.

USED products: 4% of selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year. Pricing for used electronic products is 4% of the original new selling price.

GUITARS: 4% of selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.

BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: $40 up to $2,000 selling price. BRASS and STRINGS: 2% of the selling price after $2,000. WOODWINDS: 4% of the selling price after $2,000.

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.
