In a bold Fender first, the Tone Master Twin Reverb amplifier uses massive digital processing power to achieve a single remarkable sonic feat: faithfully modeling the circuitry and 85-watt power output of an original Twin tube amp. Using a high-performance 200-watt digital power amp to achieve the headroom and dynamic range of a real vintage Twin tube amp, paired with the pronounced sparkle and clarity of two Jensen® N-12K neodymium speakers and a resonant pine cabinet, the result is tubeless Twin Reverb tone, volume and dynamics virtually indistinguishable from the all-tube original. And with all these features, the Tone Master Twin Reverb is in fact about only half the weight of an all-tube Twin.

Front panel features give guitarists a playing experience identical to the tube version, including Fender's world-standard reverb and tremolo effects. Additional rear-panel features deliver modern convenience and flexibilityincluding an output power selector for full power and five attenuated settings, balanced XLR line output with impulse response (IR) cabinet simulations, mute switch for silent stage or recording use, USB port for firmware upgrades, and more.

The included 2-button footswitch allows remote channel selection and effects on/off.

Features
• 5-way attenuator dials back power to 0.2 watts
• Solid pinewood cabinet in black textured vinyl with a classic silver grille cloth
• Two 12" Jensen N12K neodymium speakers exhibit tight, round bass and a sparkling top end
• Balanced XLR out with output control, selectable cab IRs, and ground lift
• Rear-arm allows for angling of the amp
• USB port allows for firmware upgrades
• Includes 2-button footswitch

I have owned a Fender Twin Reverb for years but tired of carrying it to performances, great sound but the 65 lbs became too much so I started to look for lighter options. I purchased a Katana Artist MK11 combo and a Fender Tone Master Twin Reverb to do comparisons. Both were much lighter amps but the Tone Master was the lightest at only 33 lbs. Both amps had great sound although the Twin had 2 -12 speakers compared to 1-12 inch for the Katana. The decision on which to keep came down to how I use my gear. I like the "keep it simple" approach, the Fender Tone Master provided a simple non-nonsense layout (which I was very familiar with ) whereas the Katana had a ton of software settings most of which I would never use. Both worked well with my pedal board. Both had attenuators, balanced line out XLR plugs, etc. and both sounded great, but I ultimately selected the Fender Tone Master Twin Reverb for my needs, lighter, simple set up, great sound, tons of head room (200 watts), classic Fender Twin Reverb style. For my ears, I could not tell the difference between the original valve Fender Twin Reverb and the Fender Tone Master Twin Reverb at 1/2 the weight

I've owned the Tone Master Twin amp for a couple of months now and it has performed perfectly on gigs. I've played a tube TRRI pretty much exclusively for the past ten years but was looking for something lighter that retained the sound and the sonic support a 2x12 offers. I play jazz with some pretty loud drummers so headroom was really important. Does the amp sound exactly like my TRRI with the knobs set the same? No, but there's variation between any individual tube amp too. Can I get the Tone Master to sound so close to the TRRI that the audience would *never* tell the difference? Yes, absolutely, just tweak the eq. The response *feels* identical to the tube version. This is a brilliant concept that is really well executed. I've used class D amplifiers with Neo speakers before and they've always sounded brittle and the attack was painfully pronounced. With the Tone Master Twin, you can get a warm clean too, which is what I'm after. The attenuator is a welcome addition too. My only criticism would be that the Tone Master is not quite as loud as it's tube counterpart. It probably needed a 400 watt power amp to match the 85 tube watts of the TRRI. It's still crazy-loud, though. Bottom line: after ten years of lugging the tube version, I imagine that won't be leaving my place very often now. The Tone Master Twin sounds great and is just absurdly convenient.

There are a ton of reviews and YouTube clips out there to tell you this amp is impressive and sounds amazingly like the real tube deal, but the most convincing test will be trying it out in person and hearing it. So many benefits, half the weight, attenuatable down to 1 watt, an ultra modern machine with the looks and feel of an old favourite, Fender really knocked this one out of the park. Touch sensitivity, Reverb and tremolo that feel and sound absolutely authentic, you’ll quickly forget it’s all solid state once you hear it and start fiddling with the tone controls to get your preferred sound and tone. Ignore the tube tone purists, give this amp a chance, I may have got the last one available at the moment in Ontario, but when you do see them in stock once more take the time to go to your local store and try one of these out, I’m willing to bet you’ll be as impressed as I am with them. Your ears and your back will thank you. My Princeton Reverb feels heavier than this amp, it’s a real sleeper of an amp. Times are changing, so is amp design, but the tone, the sound, it’s still there, and it’s glorious.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
