Started using these on my first ever les paul type guitar ( an 1957 goldtop epiphone tribute with 57 classics) and loved them. Then tried brite wires and liked them too but preferred the vintage reissues. Then got an LP Jr few years ago and strung it up with vintage reissues after purchase and these strings just compliment a nice p90 pickup so well. I had that set on for 3 years literally and played it a lot! and was still satisfied with tone and feel of the strings. I find these to be way longer lasting than slinky's and the extra cost to me, is worth it for the vintage reissues. I want to try them on my prs one day. The new package is more sophisticated and contains strings inside vacuum tight bag as opposed to how they use to ship like ernie balls where the strings are individually in paper sleeve contained in the package. One thing I dont like about new packaging though is that brite wires used to the yellow/orange label and vinatge reissues were blue. It is now reversed now so make sure you got right pack.
