I was just looking at guitars because I used to play them. I picked up a Yamaha and liked it but when I picked up the Almansa even my wife could tell the difference. I instantly fell in love with it...so I bought it. Now I'm back playing again and will never sell my Almansa.

I checked out all the classical guitars at my local L&M store. There was only one that stood out as having a rich, resonant tone...the Almansa. There were other guitars of other brands higher in price, but their sound was not as resonant, deep, rich, broad and so forth. I have heard other Almansa classical guitars over time and they all share that same rich sound I like. I eventually bought a 435 in cedar (in more humid environments, cedar may be a better choice in terms of finish since it absorbs moisture more evenly than spruce). There were two little gloss finish flaws in mine but I suppose it's impossible to expect perfection in a hand-made product. I don't feel the need to upgrade, as the sound of mine is very nice. It's possible to find others with better sound, but for the $800 I spent, I'm happy. I can now turn my attention to learning to play, instead of fussing over which guitar to own. I highly recommend you have a look at Almansa.

Had this instrument for several months now sounds much nicer than another guitar I bought earlier. My teacher likes it so much she wants to get one.

Bought at L&M Vancouver. Tried few different sets of strings and settled with Hannabach 815 medium tension. Lovely! The original strings though, D'Addario EXP medium are also a great match to this guitar. Light as Spanish guitar is expected to be. Lots of sustain for little money. Well balanced over the range. Not your loud and rich $10k Hauser but perfect for lugging around and enjoying music full speed.
