I first tried the Fender ones and when that went well wanted another set for two other instruments
Instead I found the Ernie Ball ones.
Overall I find the Fender ones easier to put on, but no complaints.
Like the Fender ones they won’t work on so strap knobs due to size or shape, but the ones they work on, they work well
Make sure they fit properly and are on securely

I just bought an Ibanez Gio GRG131DX electric guitar and the leather strap I was using let go off the bottom strap pin. :O Not a feeling you want with a brand new guitar, or any guitar really. My heart was in my throat when I caught it just in time. Rather than take out the original strap pins and install Schaller Strap Locks I was looking for something that was less invasive. Tony at our local Long & McQuade showed me all the options. Most looked too bulky or too cheap and plasticy. Then he showed me the Ernie Ball Strap Blocks. In the package you get two red and two black. Upon putting them on my guitar I found I had to "walk" them around the strap pins in order to get them on and be fully seated under the edge of the strap pins. Testing the strap security afterward assured me that the strap would not let go again easily. The solution to my problem was not only exactly what I needed but very economical too. I would have no problem recommending these to friends and family!

These things do the job they are meant to do very well with most strap pins. If you have some that have a narrower radius they likely won't work for you. If you find yourself struggling to get them on by hand, go to Youtube and watch an instructional video. DO NOT BREAK OUT TOOLS TO FORCE THEN ON. that's unnecessary, you could damage your instrument. And you'll stretch the ring to the point of uselessness.
This product will work well in most cases.

Bought these upon recommendation of the clerk my local store.nnThe Good: Work extremely well with newer guitar strap buttons. Does not work with my 70's strat or 80's Flying V. n The hole in the middle is larger than those buttons found on vintage instruments. nnThe Bad: Aside from the problem mentioned above, they are difficult to install, but once on there, will work well. Be advised, its not a true replacement for strap locks in any way, but does a lot better than depending on just the strap. There is a better chance of the strap falling off if they weren't there. n nI recommend them, for what they are. Its a pretty good idea. Using tools around the house, I did punch out some circles from a flat thick piece of rubber and drill out the centers to work on smaller pegs. They don't say "Ernie Ball" though ...

I purchased these on the recommendation of a sales clerk!!! thanks to these I now have have some serious gouges on my Yamaha BBPH Bass. The first time I put them on they failed. Thank you Ernie Ball!!! I got what I paid for. Save your prized instrument. Buy a quality product. not glorified rubber washers. I tried to give these a 0 across the board, but could'nt.
