Answer: That system is designed for the general thickness of a microphone stand. This will most likely not fit to work on music stands

I love this thing - very useful.. but I have replaced the center piece twice now, as the entire thing is plastic. I have had the clip that the threaded nut threads into break.
I should mention that I was careless the first time and left it on the stand as I packed it in my car - just being lazy. The second time it was on account of setting it up from being in a cold car.
Thankfully it is a separate part# so I can order just that piece. Take good care of it (as in better than I do) and it will probably last just fine.
