A nod to the double-bound Tele® models of the 1960s, the Classic Vibe '60s Custom Telecaster creates incredible tone courtesy of the Fender-Designed alnico single-coil pickups. Player-friendly features include a slim, comfortable "C"-shaped neck profile with an easy-playing 9.5"-radius fingerboard and narrow-tall frets, as well as a vintage-style Telecaster bridge with barrel saddles and string-through-body design. This throwback Squier model also features 1950s-inspired headstock markings, rich-looking nickel-plated hardware and a slick vintage-tint gloss neck finish for an old-school vibe.

I was in the market for a Tele and tried a number of others. Everything from the Aerodyne, Vintera, Player Plus and CV 70's and ended up settling on this. As soon as I picked it up and started playing I knew that's the sound I was looking for. Tone was a big factor, as was the neck profile. It has that Tele sound without being too twangy. Quality wise I can't find fault as the frets, fit and finish are spot on. The pictures online don't do it justice as it's more of a tobacco burst than a traditional sunburst. Mine is anyways and with the double binding looks really slick. The only complaint I have is the gloss neck but that can be easily fixed. Do yourself a favour and give it a try, you might be surprised and save some $$!

Bought a brand new one and out of the box (2024) it had no sound on the bridge pickup. Had to wiggle the switch to get any sound on any of the pickups. Returned it and got my money back. I did own it for one day but 2 weeks later, bought an Affinity instead. It's still working just fine and DOES have a belly cut. Change the pickguard and you have a 60s model that will still need upgrades as well as a CV. You would be way ahead to upgrade the electronics with the $281 you saved buying the Affinity. Then you know what you've got.

I was checking out the guitars in my local L&M that would be easy on my wallet and easy on my arthritis. After trying out a few moderately price models my eyes became fixed on a Squier Classic Vibe 60's tele, which I ended up purchasing. The first thing I noticed was the weight...not uncomfortably heavy, but definitely noticeable. This model had no fret sprout at all and the action was fine. Sound-wise, the alnico 2 pickups were just okay. The rear pickup was a little shrill even with the tone control nearly at a minimum. The neck pickup was warmer if not a little too muted. They will be replaced down the road. My biggest complaint is the tuners. They were incredibly hard to turn. Another replacement. This guitar was put together as fine as any American model: controls mounted perfectly, neck alignment superb and no neck pocket gap. Mine was made in Indonesia, a country I much prefer over China due to inconsistencies. Overall I'd recommend this particular Classic Vibe model.

I needed a guitar that I could keep in a hostile environment and that I wouldn't be too precious about. I have a JV Telecaster from the early 80's and its pretty great. But it's been in the family since new, so....not a beater. After playing everything on the wall in the $500-700 range, I decided this was the winner. Mine has a really heavy C shaped neck which is a bit unusual, and that's what sold me on it. No complaints at all in regards to build quality or the electronics, it does what a Telecaster does, sounds the same as my 83 and it's currently part of the living room rig. If you want a Telecaster and you're on a budget, this one is perfectly fine. Play every single one on the wall, just to make sure!

I walked into the store and tried almost every Tele on the wall before landing on this one.
The classic tuners threw me for a little bit of a loop when I first re strung but now that I've learned how to manage them its no issue.
The guitar is quite heavy. I'm not sure if that matters to most people but it was definitely on the heavier side vs all other comparisons. I'm not sure how that speaks to the quality? But from my perspective the feel of the neck, and over all great sound made that detail a non issue.

I bought this guitar a few years ago now, having tried literally dozens of Teles over the years, and never finding one that I found comfortably playable, or tonally rich.
I walked into L & M and saw this one on the wall after hearing about the "Classic Vibe" version, and decided to give it a spin, and walked it into the amp room. Fifteen minutes later it was on its way to my house.
The playability was slick and easy, and the tone quality was outstanding for the entire range of what I play.. I couldn't have been more sold on this guitar.
A tele at this price level that literally outperforms every tele I've ever picked up.

Over the past 40 years, I've owned over a dozen Fenders... US, Mexican, Japanese. The differences are miniscule... quality of the tuning machines and such. Save your money for a good amp and (possibly) lessons. This is a real professional instrument at a killer price.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
