The Fender Custom Shop Custom Artist collection Jimmy Page Signature Telecaster® is a faithful recreation of the guitar gifted to Jimmy Page by Jeff Beck, Page's predecessor, in seminal U.K. psychedelic blues-rock outfit the Yardbirds. Page promptly customized the guitar- a 1959 model with a white blonde finish and rosewood fingerboard- by applying eight round mirrors to it in order to, in his own words "make it a kinetic sculpture" and "a channeling vehicle for music" the guitar featured on The Yardbirds singles including 'Think About It'.

The Telecaster was then destined to receive further customization by Page and went on to become the 'Dragon' used for the electric guitar work on eponymous 1969 album Led Zeppelin, one of the most acclaimed and influential debut albums in rock history. True to the original, the Jimmy Page Signature Telecaster has a two-piece ash body with off-center seam, with an eight-hole pickguard and Journeyman Relic lacquer finish. The tinted maple neck has a custom Jimmy Page 1959 profile, topped by a flat-lam rosewood fingerboard with a 7.25" radius and vintage-upgrade frets. The two hand-wound 1958 Telecaster pickups have three-way switching with modern wiring. Other features include a top-load/string-through-body Telecaster bridge with threaded steel saddles, vintage-style tuning machines, and bone nut. Includes deluxe hardshell tweed case, ACE reissue "Stained-Glass" woven strap, mirror application kit, black coil cable and certificate of authenticity.

I am a big led zeppelin fan for 17 years, i have played thousands of telecasters searching for that tone and playability. Ive played masterbuilt telecasters, vintage 60's telecasters, and other customshop models. This guitar is the best out of all of them. Specifically comparing this guitar to the dragon and mirror artist models, i can say this guitar is hands down better and worth the extra money and heres why; being a customshop guitar they bookmatch the wood grain on the 2 piece offset ash body to be as close to the original as possible, this is labour intensive and according to fender and paul waller ( he oversees the apprentices who build this limited run) is the key to the tone. These guitars are actually quite unique i have had the pleasure to play 4 different models and they all have different relicing and weight ranging from 6.5lbs to 7.6lbs some with no wear on the front and some with wear on front and back or just back. Mine is 6.8lbs. The 59' toploader bridge adds a slinkyness and percussive poppiness that screams communication breakdown like no other telecaster. The 2 58'handwound pickups sounds much more alive and expressive then the mirror artist series telecaster that has the page 59 custom pickups. The neck features a quartersawn one piece maple neck with a indian laminate rosewood board. This is my only complaint i would have preferred a Brazilian rosewood slab board(but hey they sell those on ebay if you are particular. But that is a small thing because it is hands down the most comfortable neck ive ever played its effortless and you can play with your eyes closed. The guitar is super resonant it vibrates the chord right through your whole body and a single note can sustain for 20 seconds unplugged. Plugged in the guitar snarls and has a beautiful midrange. U have communication breakdown on the bridge, since ive been loving you in the middle posish, and ten years gone on the neck. The vintage upgrade frets is similar to a 57 strat w taller frets, the neck is a comfortable page d profile neck. It has hand rolled edges that makes playing fast leads on the 2-5th frets the easiest ive ever played. It has a very sensitive volume and tone control that combined with a good amp and hands gives you all your tones at your fingers. The case and case candy is very tastefully done. The best part is the absolute painstaking work the customshop is doing on the relic process. I have 2 30year old strats and a 40 year old les paul and this telecaster honestly fooled me that it was new. The thin nitro finish with the tasteful wear allows this guitar to really breathe. The vintage style tuners work great this guitar stays in tune all day. I play through the sundragon amp and honestly even tho this guitar will run u 7 grand it honestly is worth every penny as an amazing guitar but if you are a led zeppelin fan it is PRICELESS. So final thought is i wish the environmental laws allowed them to use Brazilian rosewood slab boards. But this guitar easily walks the line between collection piece and player grade. Because unlike the NOS artist series telecaster which you might not want to take out to preserve finish. THIS guitar is already aged into an almost t.v yellow colour and the subtle dings wont make you scared to gig with this guitar. I also recommend finding a good luthier for a professional setup to change the action and string gauge to 9's with a 8 for the high e, if you want that page sound. Bury me with this guitar.

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
