Item comes with no instructions, diagram or even a photo of how the extension fastens to the IKS-8 stand itself. Didn't help that decal was upside down on the product which confused things further. Finally, took 4 L&M staff members over half an hour to figure it out--and they had to call in help from another store--so it is not exactly intuitive. I have two heavy Yamaha keyboards, CP300 and CP1,with the latter doing on top. Originally, the top unit (CP1)was not rigid enough. Problem was solved by putting in a support spacer under each of the extended arms--actually old gray plastic thread spools scooped from my wife's sewing room They even look fine. Now top unit is as rigid as the bottom. and I am quite happy with how it all worked. Wish I could include a photo. My solution may not work in all cases, but I now have a very solid 2-keyboard stand, almost a 5.

I turns out that the right angle keyboard braces at the bottom of the holder bars were made out of plastic. I am now using velcro to hold the second keyboard on the stand because they have both broken off.

The stand is great now but I had get my friends with a power drill to drill new holes on the positioning bar. The second tier was way too high! Now the tier position is perfect . Another thing I thought would make it nicer would be locking clamps instead of screws as fasteners. Screws make the assembly time longer and can go missing.
