Epiphone's long friendship with Mr. Les Paul began in 1940 when Les built one of the world's first solid body electric guitars while working nights at the original Epiphone factory in Manhattan. Les' first solid body guitar, nicknamed the Log, would go on to inspire the Les Paul Standard, what many consider the greatest electric guitar ever made.

The Les Paul Standard 60s models from Epiphone's new Inspired by Gibson Collection recreate the sound of 1960s era Les Pauls. Featuring a classic Mahogany body with a Maple cap, Grover® tuners, and powered by ProBucker™ humbuckers with CTS electronics.

Available finishes include Ice Tea, Ebony and Bourbon Burst.

Got this in iced tea a couple weeks ago. Its my first Les Paul so not much to compare to. From someone who plays strats and an Ibanez this is a pleasant change and I am finally beginning to understand what all the hype is about. Great tone and feel. This is one of my favorite instruments. And I consider the weight to be part of its personality. Absolutely love it.

Just picked mine up. Right out of the box it's intonated and needed next to no setup--just a tuning. Packaging was super supportive with a firm neck rest. The 60's neck is a little slimmer than I expected (I have big hands) but feels great. Gloss finishes on necks don't slow me down because I'm old and have leather-hands, ha ha! Finishing and quality are excellent--the tuners are sure, the nut is cut right, no imperfections on the neck binding. The pots and hardware are smooth. One gripe is that the toggle seems a little cheap how it wiggles around but there's no static so it'll do at least in the beginning. Bridge p/u is a touch more brittle than a Gibson Std. but I roll the volume off a touch and it sounds great. Might have to have the neighbors over for drinks to make-up, 'cause it's gonna get loud.

Over the years I've come to realize that the Asian instruments are improving drastically in quality. My Epiphone Les Paul Standard is no exception. It is built to Gibson specifications and really delivers at a fraction of the cost. I'm quite sure very few people could tell the difference in a blind test. The Alnico II pickups produce all the sustain and fat tones I've ever wanted in a humbucker guitar. The slim 60's neck profile is very comfortable, especially on my arthritic left hand. And the flamed top adds to the overall playing experience. I recommend trying out this guitar. Trust your ears...you might be surprised.

Three years ago I sold my USA made Les Paul Standard , kinda regretted it and I was getting the itch to play a Les Paul again. I’d heard a lot of good things about the new epiphone “inspired by Gibson” line so I grabbed this Epi Les Paul and I will tell you this , if it didn’t have an Epi headstock you’d never know this wasn’t a USA Gibson. Love the 50’s neck I wanted that specifically as I love the way it fills out your hand. It’s a little fatter than some might like but it feels like a vintage Les Paul ! The build quality on this guitar is top notch. And it sounds fantastic !! Had it for just over 24 hours and I can’t put it down. Epiphone is doing some great things folks , I’d heard about it but now I can say I don’t know why you’d buy a $3000+ guitar when for under $1000 tax in you can have this and it’s every bit as good. That from a guy who once had a $3000 Les Paul!! Don’t be shy on this guitar. If you want a quality instrument you really can’t go wrong !!

Plays really satisfying out of box. Have not any but a re-string as I snapped one due to playing it almost all the time. I'm no pro nor any rockstar. Just a beginner to intermediate, three-chord strum player and the only thing I wished I knew when looking at a Les Paul is how heavy it can be. And that's my only downside on this guitar.

I love this thing! I picked it up about 3 months ago and I'm like a little kid again. I can't wait to get home from work and play it every day. The 60's neck felt a little better to me than the 50's profile. The Probuckers sound awesome, pickup switch feels good (nothing loose or cheap feeling at all), tone and volume controls are smooth and it stays in tune. I've looked this thing over from top to bottom, front to back...it's perfect. I have a Sheraton II as well and the serial numbers say they both came from the same factory in China. Quality has not taken a back seat with either of them at all. Mine is the Bourbon Burst model, and looks as good as it sounds. Thanks Long and Mcquade Pickering.

Love it, only had it a few weeks but I'm growing to love it. A bit on the heavy side for a longtime Strat guy like me but nothing game-stopping. Only gripe I have is a few of the frets have sharp edges, nothing a bit of light file work wont cure.

Bought this for my 15yr old Nephew for Christmas. Yes I'm the fun aunt :) Couldn't believe how he made this sweet guitar sing. Wow! He reviewed several guitars and tested them here and this is the one he picked. It looks great, sounds great and still after 3 years. It's great to support musician's. Never tired of him playing! P.S. They guitar is heavy but he didn't mind and he's not a big guy.

Only reason the quality is 4.5 is minor cosmetic issues that are only noticeable if your looking for them

Loads of issues with these owing to fast production and no checks. I purchased one for my son and later on, there was badly aligned frets, loads of buzzing. Tried to adjust the truss rod and found it didn't work. Took it back to the L& M that I bought it from and got some strange looks as if they kind of blamed me for the problems. Spoke later to a close friend who is a luthier and he said these guitars have dreadful issues. Sad to see they've increased in price and are definitely not worth the hassle. I got to say, the Epiphone Les Paul LOOKS good at first glance but don't be fooled.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
