Question: It says in the description that the footswitch it is included. It also sells everywhere else with the included foot switch. I'm just genuinely curious why you guys don’t have it included with the amp?

For the first month, it was the greatest thing going, use it every day. 2nd month I really started noticing the tone needed tweaking, never really getting the sound I wanted. Played my supersonic twice a week. After 3 months I play my old amp five days a week.
Just doesn't have great tone. It's good, but not tube sound. Lots of choices of sounds great fun

I've had several modeling amps in the past, (Blackstar IVP60, Katana 212, Yamaha DG etc) and this one beats them all. the versatility of this amp is endless. you can tweak anything from amps to cabs to individual effects, signal chain, parameters and on and on...YOU WILL NOT FIND ANYTHING THAT IS CLOSER TO A TUBE AMP!!!!! can be lifted with 1 finger. I have easily programmed my best 10 presets in a setlist and they are all available at my feet in a row. Plenty of power for gigs. i have friends that have the Blackstar, older Mustang and Katana, all agree that this is better

Have owned this unit for about 3 months now, and have gotten to know it pretty well. This thing sounds great, and offers so many options and cool effects pedals. What won me over was building my own sounds. I have been looking at a couple of relatively expensive tube amps, and have gone as far as renting them for a few days from L&M and playing alongside the GTX. Long story short—I’ve found that, with the proper settings engaged, I can get 95% of the cleans and driven tones of those tube amps out of the Mustang GTX. Is it a perfect replication? No, but I’m a hobby player and don’t really need to worry about impressing anyone. I loved the sound of the tube amps, and love the emulated sound I can get out of the GTX. An added bonus is that those sweet tones can be had with the volume at a tolerable level.
Don’t judge the amp by your first few minutes of experience with it. Get to know what the settings do and how you can tailor the sound of each included amp emulation. You won’t regret it.

I am barely even on the fence with this. I took two angles to focus on. On one handnthe amp. On the other the FX/Modelling.
The amp on it's own is good but nothing remarkable. 100 watts, solid state, decent sound, and the 12" Celestion does what you'd expect from Celestion.
Weirdly, the amp doesn't feel solidly built though. It feels like it was made out of very inexpensive materials
and how it will stand up to the rigors of the road, studio and rehearsals....remains to be seen. When I picked it up I was expecting some heft
and instead it was strangely light. But that's not why we're here.
The control side of things are fairly smooth. The top mounted knobs are easy to use, very smooth and reasonably precise. The LCD display is small but bright and easy to read. Navigating the menus while having to stand/bend over the amp however, is a pain and very impractical.
The WiFi and Bluetooth aren't hard to set up but the problems start to surface once you get the amp and Tone app connected.
First off, while the idea of an app to run your amp may sound cool to the casual player, it absolutely is not. The Bluetooth constantly fails, even with the amp 6 ft away and all other Bluetooth signals removed (phone, pc, etc) which you shouldn't have to do.
When it fails, you are stuck on whatever preset you were using unless you reboot (a word I never imagined saying about an amp) it completely.
And as an added bonus, for the first time in my 35 yrs of playing for a living, I had the wonderful experience of a guitar amp having essentially a BSOD and just randomly locking up while recording.
This whole idea of Bluetooth and WiFi in a guitar amp seems more gimmicky than useful. And I am no old school can't stand technology type. I love tech. But this is tech that fails on almost every level. The majority of the amps presets are like most multi effect units.
About 20% are useful, in this case the many renderings of Fender amps, and the rest....not so much. Coming out of the Celestion, those 20% sound pretty good.
Direct out of the XLR stereo line outs into a mixer or headphones? Not at all. Now that's not unusual as very few direct to mixer fx that aren't thousands of dollars ever do.
Having said that, comparing similar tones out of the GTX100 and a similar price level ZOOM, the Fender wins on Fender Amp sounds, but everything else...not even close.
Out of the speaker, and mic'd with an SM 57, and then a Sennheiser MK IV the two are fairly even. But direct...not even close. The FX from the amp to headphones or mixer are not really useable. You can use them combined with a mic to fill out the sound, but that's about it. The amp is a little on the bright side, but solid state tends to be anyways.
The 100 comes with a 7 button foot switch BUT the software in the amp does not recognize it as such. It recognizes it as the 4 button version.
This is after downloading the latest firmware for the amp just in case you're thinking it's something like that. The looping feature which you can control via the footswitch, is useless. Using analog stomp box switches controlled with your feet, especially when the record and stop buttons are not next to each other, is also another really frustrating experience.
The app's interface whether via phone or tablet, is clunky and honestly very amateurish. Yeah, its got pretty colours and cool pictures of pedals and amps and cabinets, But It is also really frustrating to use. Now, I know what you're thinking. Download the PC version.
Well, the PC version of Tone 3.0 DOES NOT WORK WITH THE GTX SERIES. In all honesty, if Fender doesn't come out with a PC version for the GTX (and SOON) that isn't pictures of amps and pedals and actually offers higher level of usability, this thing is gonna end up on Kijiji. Oh, and one other thing. If you don't turn off all notification sounds on your phone or tablet, they will come through the amp and not in subtle way. It's loud and annoying.
I gave up entirely on using the on board fx and went back to my usual setup which really defeats the purpose of having an amp with fx and modelling. Now, to be fair; nobody ever says "Hey, Fender makes awesome FX pedals!" It's not their thing. They make amps and guitars etc
Having spent a lot of time with this amp, I think they should stick to that.
In all honesty, I couldn't recommend this unless there are vast improvements to the app functionality, Bluetooth stability, footswitch recognition and a PC version compatible with the GTX series.
Otherwise, forget about it.

I highly recommend this amp. I've had mine for a few weeks now and am constantly impressed with its tonal quality and playability. It reacts very well to guitar volume adjustments and playing style much like a real amp, but at a volume level you can control. It sounds great at any output level I've used, but I've not played it above 12 o'clock or half way. It's disturbingly loud beyond that.
I have a Kemper and got this as a grab-and-go alternative, and it's very impressive, and in many ways holds up well against one of the heavyweights in the market. It's an all-in-one combo amp with a footswitch in the box (but not for the GTX-50... you're going to have a bad time if you want to buy the footswitch, which I feel is a requirement, and there are no 3rd-party options) and a 60-second looper. So many of the presets are usable out of the box.
In the Olden Times, digital or modeling amps suffered from two major problems: lag and something I might call 'float', where the sound from the amp seems to have a layer of processed sound floating above the unprocessed guitar tone. Neither of these is an issue with this amp. There's almost no lag except in cases where you're maxing out certain processing-heavy effects, but that's rare. The sounds out of the amp do not have the 'floaty', synthetic and disconnected character of the last generation of cheaper digital amps. To me it's instantly responsive, but if you're very sensitive it's possible you might find a touch of lag. You can turn your guitar volume down and the amp will react in kind -- the tone cleans up sweetly while maintaining a bit of compression. It's very good around the point of breakup, where I feel the Kemper doesn't excel in that department.
Complaints: when connected to the amp with Fender Tone app, occasionally things may not work like they should. I've experienced very strange behaviour out the amp when using the app, but am hoping the bugs will be fixed by future updates. This is not a deal-breaker for me since the app isn't required, but is easier to navigate and dive more deeply into the options. It's also seemingly not possible to know what rig you're using on the app -- I haven't discovered a way to easily find the amp or preset I'm using without looking at the amp's display.
The amp also sports a rare stereo (two channel) effects loop. You can connect pretty much anything directly to the returns as well, so if you have the right cables you can jam along with songs on your phone. I've run my Kemper through it and it sounds fantastic -- the amp doesn't seem to colour the tone too much when using the returns as inputs, and if anything it sounds better than running through monitors.
It's a tad on the pricey side, but for what you get out of the box it's a real competitor to much more expensive options like the Axe FX, Kemper, Helix, etc.
I don't gig so can't comment on that side of things, but it's pretty lightweight and seems solidly constructed. I would love to see Fender replace the knobs with chicken heads and beef up the navigation buttons for a better look and feel, but there's nothing broken about them. They just feel a bit soft and it's not really clear what they do at first, but it doesn't take much time to figure it out. From the front it's a classic-looking amp.
I can't comment on how it compares to other amps in its class since I haven't tried them, but I definitely recommend it and think it should hold up well against anything in its price range.

Just picked this one up a couple of days ago and have to say the upgrades over the original Mustang GT line of amps are great. Very easy to use especially with the new Fender Tone 3.0 app.
