I've been playing a Ludwig Speed King since I was 15(41 years). It has a very particular feel. This Gibralter Direct Drive, once tweaked,is the closest I've come to as far as feel goes. I have owned a twin Iron Cobra and Pearl Eliminator, but just couldn't really get comfortable with them. Ended up going back to the Speed King both times and selling pedals. Not knocking them, just couldn't get that feel. This pedal, once tweaked, just felt natural to what I was used too. It's all about the feel for me. Great pedal. My 41 year old Speed King gets a vacation.
