Canadian Music Centre Ned The Neck - Cb - Jocelyn Morlock - Grade 3

Ned the Neck is a contrapuntal piece featuring interlocking rhythms and a broad spectrum of timbral combinations. Although the individual parts are relatively simple in terms of rhythm and pitch range, the players really need to listen to each other and to focus on balance and dynamics. It starts with a slow introduction featuring solo flute, clarinet and trumpet. Changing duple and triple meters in the opening 20 bars give way to a faster, fierce and exciting cut time at letter C through to the end - Jocelyn Morlock.
