Non-stop excitement characterizes this very original new work from a young Texas composer. Hyperactive timpani and mallet parts lay down an asymmetric rhythmic groove (often joined by percussive brass punctuations) over which extended note melodies float, including both an oboe and flute solo. Putting the main emphasis on rhythmic and harmonic tension, the composer has created an electric composition that is built to capture the listeners full focus until its rousing conclusion.
