Ibanez GSR Mikro basses offer anyone who needs a compact axe or the comfort of a smaller neck (especially young rockers) a real alternative to small basses that are really only toys. Mikros have the same warranty, high quality, and careful set-up as Ibanez's full-size SR and GSR models.

A sturdy B10 bridge is one feature on the well-equipped GSRM20 Mikro bass.

The GSRM20's 28.6" scale neck is perfect for students and smaller players.

First off I am a guitar player. I have electric guitars bit usually play 6 string acoustics. This is my first bass guitar. I am no spring chicken anymore. This little Ibanez made sense to ME because: 1. Its inexpensive at $299 2. Its small, shorter than my strat. Space is limited. 3. I dont need another case to store. An electric guitar gig bag works fine. 4. Its light. At 6.2 lbs it is than my strat at 8 lbs, my les paul makes it feel like a toy (which it isnt). It is WAY easier to tolerate on a strap. I can wear this bass all night. 5. It sounds awesome out of the box. I like both pickups full up as well as the tone. 6 Good hardware. Everything works fine. 7. Though I am 6 feet tall I look 8 feet tall holding it ;-) 8. The shorter scale length makes it so much easier to play. At my age my fingers dont want to contort to the fret span of a big bass. The distance between frets is closer to a guitar and easily adapted to. 9. Good setup out of the box. If it wasn't its easy as any other bass to set string/pickup height, intonation and neck curvature. 10. I like the feel of the neck. Doesnt feel like a 2x4 in my hand like a big 5 string does. I adapted from a guitar to a bass in a matter of minutes, not days, weeks or months. 11. Has bridge and neck pickups. They are passive which I prefer for simplicity. If you think short scale basses are for kids you should reevaluate your biases and think more openly. This bass sounds better than most 34"+ scale length tanks. It would be great for smaller or younger people but the sound is very very big. It rocks. What more could anyone want? Only complaint is a minor paint flaw on the front. A small fisheye. Other than that the fit and finish is great. Very nicely assembled and finished. Massive value for cost/performance and, if it matters, looks cool.
