I bought these used and paid about half price! A little cosmetic blemishes on the surfaces but that all came off during cleaning and polishing. I am happy with sound qualities of these. Great balance in dark & bright tones as evos are usually "brighter" dark cymbals. Its got balanced articulation and wash. Overall, very inspiration pair of hats to play. It is unlikely I will ever use bright hats again (not that its a bad thing to).

I gave these hats an 8/10 for features only because the 'chk' is not so pronounced. The hhx groove hats have that over this pair. I think you would have to play with pretty heavy sticks(I use 5a/7a), or play very hard for the 'chk' to cut. However, they are a 10/10 in every other way. They are beautifully dark sounding and the wash is very rich and musical. These would be great for any types of modern rock or punk, awesome for classic rock and blues, and probably really good for traditional jazz and some hiphop. Some of the best cymbals being made in the world are being made in New Brunswick, and for the price of the entry level products from other major brands. This was an easy choice for me, top quality and local (to me in the maritimes). Next purchase is the evolution 20" ride.
